...............................She cooks delicious stuffed bell peppers and enjoys the flavor the pepper gives to the filling, but she gives me the pepper portion because she knows how I love them.

BTW: I just finished a big bowl of stir fried peppers. I chop up onion and brown it just a bit in olive oil in a big skillet and then add sliced up banana and bell peppers. I stir them on medium high heat and turn them a few times before adding about a tablespoon of low sodium soy sauce and simmer for one more minute to steam in the flavor. I can make a meal of just peppers cooked like this and the only reaction is always wanting more when these are gone.:licking:


Adding some thinly sliced sirloin steak into that skillet would make a meal fit for a king. Peppers do make everything better..........:licking: (They need to add one of these little guys drooling for posts like this)

Here in central Iowa, I had the best peppers in 4 years. We had been wet and cool before this year.
We are about to get a good freeze this week. Has anyone had good luck in freezing various kinds of peppers?

Have frozen green bell peppers for years now in a home freezer...outdoor frosts don't seem to damage peppers that much.

Cut into quarters or eighths, remove seeds, rinse well, and drain. I use what they call tray freezing, placed on a cookie sheet in the freezer, and when they are frozen transfer to plastic freezer bags. Tray freezing them initially keeps the sections from sticking together.

If vacuum sealing, tray surface freezing also works best for vegetables as well as other foods such as meats. It reduces the liquid moisture that often prevents the vacuum unit from sealing.

No No No!!!!

Were on the verge of getting frost now, and my peppers are doing so well.
I have habeneros comming in like the dickens now.:drool:
Boy where is global warming when you need it!!!:eek:

Oh well Im thankfull for what I have got. Ive put a LARGE amount in the freezer already but I love peppers on everything. :licking:

Everyone cross your fingers maybe they will make it a little longer:thumbsup:

We have had several medium frosts here and neither green nor chili peppers seem to have been affected. The chili peppers have been producing for over four months now...they always do well even if other crops in the garden don't.

Well poop!
We have had an unusually warm fall w/ nothing even close to freezing temps but its all gone down the drain
It got down to 23F last night when I went out today DEATH Everywhere.
AWWWW SHUCKS:mad:
Hung the rest of the peppers so they can ripen a little before I vacume them and freeze um.
