What's this snow stuff you speak of?
It's a really fun substance which God only doles out to certain regions, and is in such short supply that He only lets us have it for a few months out of the year. Lately he's been even stingier than normal :D

I grew up shoveling that crap in the Midwest. The day I graduated high school I hopped a plane to California and never looked back. I don't like being cold and there are places in this world where you don't have to be.

I'm the exact opposite. If it never got above 60 I'd be perfectly happy. Back when I used to walk 5 or more miles working I used to dread the coming of summer. The only good things about that season are corn, tomatoes, cucumbers and bikinis.

I look forward to summer, fall, and winter season changes every year. I appreciate the summer heat, mild fall weather and snowy cold winters. But I hate spring. An ugly season in the southern Rockies where I live: windy, cold, and changeable from day to day. If it was feasible, I would travel to a tropical location on March first and return home on June first. I realize there are many places where spring is a nice season, but not where I live.

I will take snow over wild fires and evacuation from my house all day long. (y)

That's us right now. Snow in the woods, fields and open areas are bares, mud on the roads. I took three days off to get some things done, and actually was able to get some use out of my sawmill.
I'm trying to gather a little sap to make maple syrup, but either it doesn't get cold enough at night; or it gets TOO cold so the trees don't warm up; or if the temps cooperate the darned wind has to blow a gale. I've had taps out two weeks, so far it's run good for one day. All that I need is two more good runs though, to get my year's supply in.

The years I always hate are those when we go from winter to summer with no inbetween to acclimate. There was one year that we had a foot and a half of snow on Friday, it rained all weekend, and was 80 on Monday. I had to go to Vermont for 3 days work and all that I had was a pair of sneakers and a pair of felt lined boots. I cruised in sneakers for that trip.
Out of all of the places I worked back then, that was one of the most memorable. Ludlow Vermont is a ski town, and the slopes had closed just before I got there. Many places were closed but I ate at a family run Italian place in town. I started out sitting at a table, but moved up to the counter and it was like they had invited me in to eat with them in their dining room. 👍

Grass started turning green 50-70 degree days.
then earlier in the week 19-30 and grass started browning while some was still sending up new shoots.
Supposed to get to 70 today and feels like it will.
First daffodils up and some other flowers survived.
Trees just seem to be confused. Some dropped buds, some with healthy buds.
