I'd get the B with a MMM and an offset rotary cutter or trail rotary cutter- you could get a 9' total cut when you mow the 25 acres. Do you know how long it takes to mow 25 acres? I ditto getting the FEL, with that little snow you can use the FEL to clear it and then you'll have something you can use to knock down fence posts when you mow, requiring the purchase of another implement called a post hole digger. Then you can justify building a barn to keep the implement in, but building the barn will require a box blade to level a place to build it. Then you'll need a bigger barn so you'll need a 3pt cement mixer to handle all the concrete for the floor. Then you'll need a refrigerator in the barn to hold your beer because you'll be out there a lot fixing all your stuff. Then you'll need a 3pt generator in case the power goes out in the barn and the beer gets warm. Welcome to heaven.

Johnthomas - Can you expand on any and all differences of the bx vs the b? I've been leaning toward the b, but if a bx will do the job, why get the b? Have you noticed a big difference in the FEL? Will the b lift more and do more work?

I like the size of the bx for my uses, but don't want to limit what I can/can't do by not getting the b.

FN in MT a B model would work well for you. Ditch that pita MMM and get a rear 3PH deck ...easy on easy off. Also I recommend you get the FEL.

We use ours for snow removal on a gravel driveway too. Heck you can get a fully equipped used B or about 6k that would probably last your lifetime...

...don't fall into the trap that newer is always better. Kubota's are very well built machines.

Art (NY Kubota dealer) and I are the contrarians regarding bigger is better. I've bought 8 Kubotas in the past 5 years. I currently have a B3200, a BX2350 and F2880E. Had went up to an L3240HST but traded back to the B3200. I have rocky, some trees hillside property. My first tractor was a BX2200 MMM FEL. It was awesome but I got it hung up a few times on downed trees. I thought it would do anything and go anywhere. It wouldn't I found out. I did leave my MMM on all the time because to me it was not a simple 2 minute deal to get it off and on. I traded it for a B7800 RFM and FEL. It did have a stronger FEL and a bit bigger bucket which will save a few minutes per hour if you do alot of FEL work but the BX would have done most of the same work with more time. I could move a bit bigger rock with the B. The B will have a bit more traction due to tire size being a bit bigger and also can drive thru gullies and ditches better than the BX again due to tire size and ground clearance. BX's are not always cheaper than B's so it's not always a money thing to get a B vs BX. There is the "it feels right for me" feeling when working these tractors. The L never felt right for me and trading back to the B size on my property put the smile back on my face. Again, in my opinion, the major difference between the B and BX is ground clearance, ground clearance, ground clearance and can save a few minutes per hour on FEL work with B over BX. When I mow I use my BX2350 which does not have a FEL. When I do FEL, boxblade and landscape rake I use my B3200 and would still use the B even if the BX had a FEL. The BX will do most of the same jobs as the B but takes more time.

Not an easy question to answer as you can see. Opinions are plenty here and everyone has a good justification for their answer.

Ask a few locals or neighbors what they have and talk locally to people. That might be better for you to decide.

You need to go sit on both and drive both of them. Get the dealer to let you play on each one for 30 minutes each. Decide which one gives you the biggest warm fuzzy and either buy new from him or go huntin' a used one. Think of all the chores you are going to use your new tool for and see if any of them are going to be made more difficult by a larger tractor. If it will, decide how often that chore will be accomplished. If it's the primary job of the tractor then it should weight very heavily on your decision; if its only going to happen occasionally then weight it accordingly. Take the warm fuzzy factor, the limiting factors of tractor capability/manueverability and finances and make a good decision. Good Luck and enjoy the hunt! :p

OMG, Mark, that is EXACTLY how it happened to me too!!!!

After hours of pouring over manuals.......sitting on both models......concerted souls searching........and seeing a new B2620
in the crate at the Dealers.....I opted for the B model.

B2620HSD with block heater and rim guard included.
R4 Industrial tires
3 frt suitcase weights...55#
60" Kubota MMM

Woods 5' rotary cutter, Kubota ORANGE

Should have it this coming week. :D

I think the B will be kinder to my bad back and the rampant arthritis in my neck. I hate to say it but I'm REALLY excited about this! Been wanting the capability to get the rest of the property into shape. And shortly I'll have the tools to do it.

My neighbor has a 40HP JD with FEL so THAT saved me the hassle of the extra cost of a FEL. He also has a post hole digger (auger) so can always borrow that as well.

Expect digitals in a week or so.

Appreciate ALL the help Gentlemen! I started with the idea of a BX but thanks to the group here and some good discussion I think the B is the better choice.

I really like my BX2660. For my uses, it is the perfect machine. I consider it an over sized lawn mower with extra dirt and snow moving attachments. Small enough to mow the front lawn yet big enough to do household chores.
Large lawns and fields are no problem.
My only concern is ground clearance when breaking trails through the woods and skidding logs.

Good input guys - I have driven both and have liked the way the B7500 and B7510 drove, felt, etc. Haven't driven the B2620's yet, but will somewhat soon and think it will only be better... I've also been thinking about not only what I'd do today, next month, within 6 months, but what I could possibly be doing in 2 years or 10/20 years.

I don't plan to get another one later on in life, I want to die with this one...

Interesting because the way I started into this was because I was looking for an oversized lawn mower to do extra work, but after looking at it all and doing research, I think the B may be better.... when I'm ready to throw the money down, I'm going to drive both and try working both with the FEL.... I'm sure that will help make my decision
