Hi,

I am near Vannes in Brittany.

My wife is from Chatres-sur-cher France. Between Romorantin-Lanthenay and Vierzon. What part of Brittany are you in?

I live in the southwestern corner of New Hampshire but Sunapee is only a little more than an hour away. Nothing is very far away in New Hampshire compared to Saskatchewan where I grew up!

Welcome to TBN from Missouri, we all like pictures and I am sure others would love to see pictures of your operation, equipment and property as much as I.

Greetings from the east coast of Lake Huron. Sorry but my French language skills are limited to grade 3 to grade 8 french lessons for 1/2 hour per day. That was some decades ago. I was surprised to have remembered a few words when in Haiiti earlier this year.
Quebec,Canada, the US in close proximity and trade. The French language, English language, sovereignty, Catholic and Protestant all combine to make Quebec a complicated place. To be honest when driving to New Brunswick we travel via Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine rather than venture into Quebec. We feel safer and don't get scowled at or refused service because we don't speak fluent french.

Orchardist, Have you been to St. Malo? When I was on vacation in France, I drove from Chatres-sur-cher to St. Malo. That was a little different than driving here in the states. What a nice area it was.

Luckily I am english, but my wife is french.

Quebec is quite an interesting place. It appears to be similar to some of the French departments in that is has great pride in its cultural identity. It appears to be generating its own identity although when we visited appeared a little like a cross between France and Canada/US cultures.

I guess like in France, if you attempt to speak some French and they see you trying...then it is much easier! Sometimes you just fall on the wrong person though!

Of course. I have toured extensively in France and have friends dotted all over. Some of our friends are fellow cider makers in the Calvados department.
