Hi,

I have spent countless hours on these forums researching. Thanks for all the info. I am almost certain that I will be buying a 2210D from LMTC in the coming weeks. I would like some feedback from some people who actual own a 2210d. What are your experiences good and bad?

Thanks,

DM

MDM, I just bought a 2210 (not a D) from LMTC a few weeks ago and I could not be happier with the whole transaction. I had lurked on this site for months going back and forth on which model, etc. Even talked to Wayne several times on the phone months ago. He was never pushy, even though I took a lot of his time with hundreds of questions and then didn't buy right away. He even stood out in the rain with me for 2 hours one day while I looked at tractors. It was probably 2 months after the first time I talked to him before I bought my tractor. I used to trust everyone I met until they proved me wrong; but now, after being burned a few times, I check things out a little more. Believe me when I tell you, Wayne will not do you wrong. He has been around a long time and knows his stuff!

Now for the tractor...

I've only had it a few weeks, but have used it a lot since day one. I had a 180' x 36" deep trench to fill in. The dirt from the ditch witch had set in the rain and sun for weeks and was hard as a rock, I couldn't imagine trying to break it all up with a shovel. I was able to straddle the trench with the tractor and tiller to break it all up. Then use the box blade to fill it in and smooth it out. I'm not very good with a box blade, but it looks pretty good compared to what it used to look like. I have also used it to till a garden, a huge part of my neighbors yard he is reseeding, smoothed out my gravel drive. Also used a boom pole (highly recommended) to move numerous things around the barn and yard, just be careful and keep the load low to the ground, and the speed VERY slow. The tractor has done everything I asked it to do. I have only ahd the tires spinning a couple of times and that was on hard packed dirt with the box blade completely full. Just bumped it up a little and away she went. I added gauges to mine as many members here have done because I do not like the dummy lights. The tractor has never overheated, and the oil pressure is always around 30-50psi.

You can probably find a cheaper 2210D from another source. But I don;t think you will find a better one anywhere around these parts. I was more than willing to pay a couple of hundred bucks more to know I have a dealer that has gone through the tractor from top to bottom before I bought it, and that is willing to help if I need it.

Sorry to ramble, hope this helps!

BTW, I got a used 5' box blade, new scraper blade, a used RS1400 tiller, and a 30" scoop with mine. Everything works great, just a little operator error here and there. Have not used the scoop yet, maybe next weekend if it warms up. Also got some front weights for mine, not sure if you will need them on the 4WD.

Thanks for the reply. Anyone else have any dealings with LMTC, or 2210d stories?

Before you use your scoop, you can probably save yourself some agravation by reversing the mounting pins to face inward instead of out, unless they came that way. The 30" width, plus the outward facing pins will put your lower lift arms very close to your rear tires, for a standard cat. 1, 26" width.

MDM,
Wayne will do you good. I had no idea cwarrix was looking there, I could have given him a recommendation as well. But it seems he found out for himself /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thank you Chuck and Jerry. We try. I guess we are now one of the older dealers in this market. Most of those who were stalwarts in the early days, like Liberty, J&K, The Tractor Shop, and Gamut, are now gone.

Hi Mr. Inspector, I had to buy a tractor to fill in that trench to the barn... uhhh... I mean the trench at my friends house where he ran electric to his barn. Looks like he did a good job though, and it's all pretty close to code too! I think he had a lot of help /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks for the tip normde2001. Wayne at LMTC had it all set up for me when I picked it up, I think the pins are facing inward. They tried it out on another 2210 to make sure everything fit properly.

How did you go about getting gauges and were they bery hard to install?

Hi MDM, do a search in this forum for "gauges" and "guages" and you will find a few good threads with part numbers and plenty of pictures. I think most people went with the smaller 1.5 inch gauges, but depending on your model and where/how you want to mount them, you may be able to use the 2 inch kind.

I ended up using Sunpro 1.5 inch guages for mine. I had to get a metric adapter kit from Sunpro for the oil pressure. I could not find the metric kit fot the water temp anywhere in 50 mile radious of where I live, so I went to Napa. They had exactly what I needed, but it was $12 vs' $6 for the Sunpro kit. I also bought the copper line for the oil pressure instead of the plastic stuff. While I was at Napa, got a tee and two 90's so I could have the oil pressure guage and dummy light at the same time. I took my time and the project took about 2.5 hours. My biggest problem was cutting the hole. The hole saw I used was dull and didn't do a great job. BTW - on my 2210, I was able to cut around a couple of holes that were already there to get my guages right up there on the dash. In order to do that I had to relocate the turn signal switch. I'll try to post a few pics later.

Hope this helps... do the search and you will get a ton of good info. Here's a couple to help you get started...
