grey kubotas

[Soundguy]

Are all grey market kubotas equipped with the reverse pto? or is it only specific units. Anyone know what numbers i need to look out for? Also.. I understand that the local dealers won't seel parts for the greys. How do you tell which models are domestic and which are grey?

Is there such a thing as a grey market BX tractor????? What would be the differance?????

I don't think you have to worry about it as much on the newer tractors. Kubota USA sued all the importers to keep them from bringing in the grey market tractors. I would just read the link in my earlier post and it gives you several items to look for to determine if the tractor was built for the US market or not.

I have a Grey Market L2201DT Kubota. It has a standard PTO that turns the correct direction. I order parts for an L245DT (american counterpart) when I need parts and maintenence items. Only difference I have found so far is the PTO , the Grey has 4 speeds. I assume there are a few gears that are different inside. I did have to split the tractor to replace a bent PTO shaft but located a used shaft quite easily. 25 years old and running strong!! Naturaly there are no ROPS or PTO shield .There is a ROPS program availlable from Kubota for the older tractors. I could order Rops for an L245DT that would fit perfect , but it would not fit under my garage door !
