I am a new member so I bet my question has already been answered. Has anybody ever put together a list of Grey market tractors that closely match US models? This would be a usefull item for us first time tractor buyers. I have operated many different types of equipment and tractors over the years and am in the the market for my first own tractor. I have been a professional mechanic for about 20 years working on all types of equipment and fire trucks so repairs are not a problem just parts availability. I am currently a Fire Captain in the Pacific Northwest. Any advice about models or dealers would be a great help. I am looking for a tractor around 25 horse with loader, brush hog,Post hole digger and a backhoe. I have 12.5 acres and a horse farm. Thanks for the advice in advance.

Lots of the yanmar grey units have close domestic realatives. Though all parts don't match.. many do.

Hello to everybody. I am from Europe and just found about this interesting forum. - Very informative and Keep it up! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I wish to ask if in US you can find the following grey market kubota models such as L2002DT, L2202DT, B1600DT, B1502DT, B1-17DT, L1-225DT.

Does anybody know the US equivalent for the mentioned models? Is there any internet web site `database` to see the equivalents? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Thanks in advance for any replies. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I don't know if you are aware of this, but gray market Kubotas cannot be imported to the US. So you may not find much information offered from US folks. I understand that there are quite a lot of gray market Kubotas in Canada. One of the Canadian dealers may be able to provide better information.

Hello MichaelG,

If you find out some manuals (free :D downloadable resources, pdf files, etc) for Kubota B1600DT, tell me please. The vice versa is available !!!

You can find here what you want but ... for a price.

Those manuals are reproductions and for whatever reason are about double the price of just getting a manual from Kubota.

This is the problem. Just because a certain Japanese model matches a particular American model does not mean that parts are available. For example parts for some the Ford compacts from the 70's and 80's can be extremely hard to find, expensive and or obsolete. We get weekly calls from tractor owners who own US models that the parts are obsolete and they want to know if we can get them from Japan. Some we can and some we can稚. I would also say that parts for Japanese Yanmars are much better than US model Yanmars due to a large after market suppliers building new parts.

If you find a good dealer that supports their equipment long term, parts issues should be very transparent to you as a customer. If the dealer doesnt support his equipment and is just out for the sale thats when you see people on these boards asking for any help they can get because they know their dealer is useless.

Good luck in your search, sit on and drive everything you can and have fun doing it!
