Tractor
JD 4610, yanmar 155d
I Inherieted a ym155d a few years back. Put r1 tires on it and used it for deer hunting food plots on leases. It is a good tractor but is old and a little small for our new place. I have a 44hp John Deere for our primary tractor and were using the Yanmar to supplement it but would like something about 25hp to supplement it. We currently put about 100 to 150 hrs a year on each machine maintaining our property.

I was looking at the YM2500d and the fx24d grey market tractors, the reconditioned ones with the bulldog loaders. One dealer told me that he get his tractors from Arkansas and they are reconditioned in China by John Deere and that all John Deere's under 100hp are made in China( i know the last statement is BS). Where are these tractors reconditioned and what is done to them. I have also seen on the net that some are Vietnamese tractors or reconditioned there and to stay away. How do I spot these? I dont want to get a lemon and this dealer only gives a 90day drivetrain warranty.

What is the difference in Parts Availability between the ym2500's and the FX24's. I know the ym series are older but are the fx series as easy to get parts for. I currently use Hoye to buy parts for my 155d. Anyone know any dealers in Louisiana or an internet dealer that I can get a tractor shipped from.

Finally what do you think my 155d is worth. It has 1400 hrs, and runs great. I maintain all the fluids and everything works, but it is 30 years old and looks it.

I called Stans Tractors, which Hoyes site directed me to. Stated that I should get a 2310 as its the same motor as a 2500 but a much better tractor. Stated that he uses kyoker loaders not bulldog as they are vietnamese and no good.

The 2310 is a 3 cylinder and the 2500 is a 2 cylinder and not even close to the same tractor.

hi akajun,

my recent purchase of a YM1600 from an individual at a cost of $2,200 has no regrets here. 900 hours on the tach.

The Pawn Shop has a YM2000 (i believe), they first were asking $4,000 but a second call they said $3,500. way to high a price, and one rear tire was flat.

Look in the Advocate Classifieds, there is a dealer in Franklinton, LA that sells Yanmars, that have rops. I did not drive to look at his inventory, but he did seem nice on the phone, and prices seemed OK being from a dealer.

your YM155D should bring in at the very least $2,500, it is 4wd right? , should bring in even more.

If you do not mind driving, I must agree that Stans will be the best choice. He is your resource for future maintenance, if ever needed.

The only way to know the difference between a direct import yanmar & a V.N. yanmar tractor Is to buy only from someone that you know & trust. Or buy your tractor from a UTDA member. If you buy from a UTDA member you are going to get all the safety features. ( ROPS/ SEAT BELT/ SAFTEY START SWITCH/ PTO SHIELD/ OVERRUN CLUTCH/ ENGLISH DECALS, ETC,.) You won't get any BS from a UTDA Yanmar dealer. Is it possible that you misunderstood stan about these 2 tractors ? They aren't the same

Run away!!! He's not honest. No such thing.

The bulldog loader is another sign of trouble. There are NO parts for them anywhere, per the posts I have read here. No dealer network, no support, the guy who sold it to you will just laugh at you.

There are legitimate importers in your part of the country. Look for one who includes a ROPS in the price, that's a pretty good sign he has your best interest in mind.

My YM2210 came from Fredricks Equipment in Hartselle, Alabama. They are a UDTA dealer. My understanding is they import their tractors and all work is done at there facility. My 2210 came with all safety equipment. They put new radiators on their tractors I was told and mine appeared to be new. In short, it is a beautiful tractor and after 40 hours I've had no problems. They deliver I believe and appear to provide good parts support.

I've bought quite a few parts from Hoye, and I went up to Stan's to pick up my tiller, they seem to be good people. When I was picking up my tiller, the guy went through alot of trouble to make sure I had everything for the tiller. I walk around some of the tractors he had for sale there. All seemed very clean and good order (though I did not actually run any of them.)

I don't think you'll go wrong working with Stan's Tractors and Hoye.
