Here Imported tractors grey market remanufactured and new it states that the tractors are re-manufactured by zen-noh as if zen-noh is a re- manufacturing plant of some sort. Here Business Report / Profile here it states something else. That is why I asked my question in my other post

I thought your response to schalfback was a good one, and a dealer I hadn't heard of before. And when you provided a link, I went there (like some others) and read up thoroughly on what they had to offer.

I did see some inaccuracies in their advertising, and the first one being Kenmac's mention of "Remanufactured by Zen-Noh" I also saw some Yanmar models listed as "D" that were in fact a two wheel drive tractors. Besides the unusual statement "All tractors are brought to 95% of original specifications," they don't display any of the actual hours on their tractors.

So, when I come here I often observe the posts from some of the more seasoned Yanmar members, and if I need clarification, I'll check out the link and draw my own conclusions or ask them here. LMTC's "pointing out "potentially misleading advertising" was correct in the sense that potentially, statements in their web-site literature can be mistaken, misunderstood or believed true, when, in fact, they are in error.

I don't think anyone implied that they weren't friendly or dishonest.

They look like a friendly family business that sells vietnamese reconditioned tractors, chinese tractors and has a lot of mowers in stock from what I see of their website

They may be japanese yanmars but they are reconditioned in vietnam

I appreciate your info about this dealer and am sorry that his add stirs so much flac.Any more info out their about dealers would be greatly appreciated.I only wonder where his tractors come from???? japan or viet nam

That particular dealers tractors are from Viet Nam. Anytime you see statements such as:
What does factory reconditioned mean?
There are reconditioning factories where tractors are disassembled and checked out. The engine is rebuilt with new rings, bearings, gaskets, seals, valves and pistons as needed or whatever else is necessary. Electrical and hydraulic systems are tested and repaired as needed. All tractors are brought to 95% of original specifications.

you know they are VN Recons. The tractors don't have anything new in them. They have been disassembled because they have taken several parts tractors and made one running tractor which is then painted to look new.
Some folks have been very happy with their recon's, others have not been so lucky.

Here is a dealer of Yanmars straight from Japan that has a very good reputation here and is located in SC.

It's just a matter of taste, I suppose. Some go for the VN Recons, some want one from Fredricks which has been refreshed and has new paint. I prefer an unmolested Yanmar straight off the boat with original paint.

Take your time, find a decent tractor with a good dealer to support it. Keep in mind that unless you are within trailer distance to your dealer, any warranty translates into parts support.

Maybe I was very lucky with my tractor, I just know I was treated very well, and I do love my little tractor, as Im sure evryone here does theirs!

I'll have to stop by and talk to Ben at Southland, but.....they have a for sale sign in front of the business.

From previous discussion with Ben, it is likely a sale of the property, and not the whole business.

The owner of Southland has been talking about dividing all of the surrounding land and selling lots. I think thats what it means.

One mystery I don't know the answer to is if these are the guys who provide Bulldog loaders. In any case a Bulldog loader on a Yanmar is a flag that its origin is similar.

From what I've read here, and seen at a similar importer, a lot of the tractors are as good as you would expect for equipment of equivalent age. But some dealers misrepresent them badly, for example 20 years newer than actual, low hours etc, and some of the dealers abandon the customer when a bad unit slips through leading to real disappointment and financial loss.

For some knowledgeable customers its a reasonable gamble to buy a gorgeous looking 'recon' and then expect about the same experience as buying ordinary used equipment without the nice paint job. For the unwary and unlucky who believe a unit is two years old when its 25 years old, ... buyer beware.
