grill guard for L3000DT

i am building a grill guard for my L3000DT. they want $328.00 for this item.
i know i can build one for less than that, as i already have the material,
and i have the machines to do this.
has anyone done anything like this? what kind of problems did you have?
would like to hear from you, and if you have pics, would like to see them.

I am building one for my M6800 right now.

The bolts for the front bumper area on my M series is a 16mm metric, I think, but has a strange fine thread. I expect Kubota will want at least $15 each for these bolts, so I'll use 1/2" bolts with nuts on the back instead.

My neighbor suggested making the bumper so that it is at least as far forward that it is more forward than the front of the tires. That way, if you want to push something, the bumper hits before the front of the tire. I don't mean, have the bumpre iin front of the tire. I mean, the bumpre will be between the tires, with turning clearance, but the leading edge in front of an imaginary line connecting the front of the tires.

I'll put a tab on the bumper for a large shackle for pulling the tractor out of mud, as well as some hooks for chain.

Also, I intend to put a square receiver tube on the bottom of the bumper so that standard 2" square tubing can slip into it. Like is on heavy duty trailer hitches. I think this will be an easy way to attach anything, such as a sprayer tank, to the front of the tractor.

yes if you can post a pic, i would appreciate one. i thought you had to be registered
in order to do this. a friend of mine is making a guard for a ford 5000. he has some
grating, and is using this, and it looks good. this has some kind of filter that has to be
serviced, and he has made the grill so it will fold down out of the way to do this.

Bill I posted pic's of my grill guard, but can't remember where. Maybe someone knows where!!!! My tractor is the same as yours. Only the #'s are different. Hope it gives u some ideas.
