Jinman, Soundguy, and all the other regulars on this site. Thank you very much for your help, even if you didn't realize you were helping! I have gotten what appears to be a satisfactory fix for my tractor, (wood/knock) and am satisfied with how NH eventually handled my case. I'm officially done with it, unless I can help someone else, or unless that problem recurs, or another crops up. With farm machinery, being a farmer/tractor owner means being a mechanic; I'm not naive.
The expertise, and amount of time spent, on this site is phenomenal. I like reading the posts that are unrelated to my issues, just to educate myself a little. Thanks, again.
Now, BTI, as far as secrecy goes, if the guy that told me that is "not saavy enough" to make that comment to a customer, then shame on him and his secret. To take two months to provide a service report to a customer is not good business; no legitimate excuses were made. My whole experience with the dealer, and my perception of how NH appeared to be avoiding customer service, was somewhat disappointing to me. As of this week, I am satisfied with the current status of my tractor, and I'm satisfied with NH. I've said all along that I really like my tractor.
I found out what kind of hydraulic fluid they put in my tractor, and all my questions have been addressed satisfactorily, so with the exception of not having my tractor for over a month, I'm back to square one, moving forward.
Thanks again, everyone, especially Jinman for the diagrams and hyd. system education et al. If you want to know the type of fluid they used, send me a private message, 'cause it may be secret. The details were somewhat surprising, but it works, and beyond that, I don't care!
