Grizzly Industrial, Inc. Quality?

I'm not familiar with their DP, but have owned a 10" cabinet saw from Grizzly for several years with no regrets. Also have a 3HP dust collector from Grizzly. No doubt you can buy better but you'll pay much more.

I've got a couple Grizzly things, mostly for the wife who's teh big woodworker.
Very impressed
Saw a Jet in the store, that was a couple 100 more and it was EXACTLY the same thing.
everything below the REALLY HIGH END stuff is all made in china, might as well save the middleman.

it shows up on a truck on a pallet, good thing I had a tractor to get them off. (no big deal on this board )

I'll buy again.

I think Grizzly gives a lot for the dollar. I have a 17" bandsaw and have been perfectly satisfied with all aspects of its operation. I use it mainly to saw logs into lumber.

I bought the HF 20"production drill press, It's great for steel, it has an oil-er, drilled 1 " holes like butter. Grizzly Making decent stuff, they have come a long way.I still like Delta for wood. Jet bought Powermatic and they are going down hill.

I would have to agree that "Grizzly" has come a long way in the past few years ! I have been both satisfied and also dissatisfied ! I bought a 6" joiner from them many years ago and had to remachine the dovetails on the infeed table to make the machine cut properly ! But I have their 15 " planer and it has given me many years of trouble free use. I also have their 3hp spindle shaper. The rest of my shop I went with the Delta Unisaw and the 8" joiner. I also have their 16 " bandsaw, Im somewhat satisfied with that, it does what I want but its not a great machine and I will probablly upgrade at some pont in time. All in all they have better qual;ity control now than they did years ago !

I have quite a few wood working machines. 15 years ago, Grizzly was marginal but their stuff now for the most part is quite good. Many of my wood magazines rate them fairly highly in many reviews. Nearly all of my stuff is USA made Delta and porter-cable. Delta went overseas a few years ago to make their stuff. Most of my stuff is Delta/porter-cable because my sister used to work at the company. Their father's day and christmas employee sales were great. I had pallets of equipment shipped to me below wholesale. Table saw, band saw, portable and stationary planers, sander, routers, shaper, lathe, miter saws, dust cleaners, drill, air compressor, jointer and hand tools over the course of several years. The equipment will outlast me. I could sell it all tomorrow and get more than I paid for it. It was a sad day when she quit and went to work for Hunter fans. I don't want fans!

I have a drill press and a band saw from Grizzly, and have had them both for over 5 years with no problems from either. I wore out the chuck on the drill press but since it used an M2 mandrel, it was easy to get a new one.

I have the Grizzly Drill press number 7947. It has a one horsepower motor and goes down to 210 RPM. I am very pleased with it. It seems well built and has plenty of power. I did have to tighten a nut on the main spindle, no big deal, but you might have to do the same. I will probably buy a milling machine from then in a few months. I now wish that I had just gotten the milling machine in the first place. A lot more money, but much more capability and even lower speeds.
