"Censorship" is sure to continue as longs as posts are reported and actions are taken.

btw, is there much tractor talk on TNT? I bet green & orange rule there.

To my thinking locking is preferable to delete because lots of good info is often lost when threads are vaporized.

Sometimes locking is a stopgap until time permits to review.

Having moderated in unrelated sites it can easily become be all consuming and burn out high for mods.

Respectful discourse goes a long way in keeping topics open in my experience plus I do find some of the twists and turns really interesting and even helpful

Thanks for your advice, I hardly ever read any of that thread it was just no interest to me, I won’t miss it, very sorry to learn you have been so seriously offended.
Not offended at all. I'm not easily triggered which is why I find it odd that others find a need to shut down threads. I'm actually quite the opposite. I don't believe people have a right to not be offended. That's seems to be the problem. We now censor everything to try and appease a few.

I just wish the person that shut down the thread had the stones to man up and tell us why the thread was shut down. I saw nothing to shut the thread down. Certainly not the last post. A chocolate bunny rabbit? Really?. How the "heck" are we supposed to learn what is offensive when no one will tell us what is offensive. What and who was it that crossed the line and that was so egregious to lock a very popular thread. Nope, you just get a stone wall of silence. No comment, no reason, not even a hint. Personally I think we are OWED an explanation. Without the hundreds of core contributors this site would fold like a house of cards. The sound of silence. It could work both ways.

The problem with "being offended" is that it can work both ways at the same time.

" You CAN'T do THAT, or I will be offended!"

"No! You HAVE to do THAT, or I will be offended!"

I avoided Groan II and Groan III because among others TBN isn't facebook, twitter, etc for me either. Mods respond to complaints more than they use their own reasons, so lets get over blaming them every time that happens. You don't like speed limits, don't blame the cop who writes the ticket. I don't blame shirt & shoe mandates on wait-staff.

Can't please everybody all the time. You want to lace comments with offensive (to someone) innuendo or to support biasies (>one biasy) do that where it's expected, like "TNT".

Lets keep TBN a place where we Google-search for those who won't do it themselves, as though we members have all the answers. :sneaky:
It’s not unreasonable to expect rules to be administered in a fair, evenhanded manner across the board with an articulable reason posted or delivered. The mod doesn’t have to be identified but it should be consistent. That is just decent, good business.

For your first sentence to happen that man would be required this morning to man up and tell us why multiple posts of mine last night were removed from this thread.

Even my post about how censorship on this forum has escalated dramatically over the last year.

Face it James, "you're a racist and we don't have to tell you why". "Your politics don't align and we don't have to tell you why".
