Ground Contact Mower Deck

Lookin at buying a new compact tractor and looking for help on mower deck selection.

My only experience is with a suspended deck on a garden tractor. The tractor I am looking at has a 60 inch ground contact deck.

Both will produce a nice cut on a very smooth lawn. The ground contact mower will have a tough time if your lawn is rough, bumpy, or poorly graded like mine. A mower that follows ground contours will do a lot of scalping and blade damage if your lawn has ruts and holes.

I have always used a ground contact deck and I have had satisfactory results even though some of my lot is not the smoothest in the world. I have no experience in a MMM and always assumed that they might give a better cut. But after following a thread at the Kubota forum I'm not so inclined to believe that any longer.
