Ground cover in wooded / shaded areas

My wife uses Ligularia plants. They actually produce babies all over and will even grow in a stone driveway. Nice looking. First to come up every year and last to pack it in. AND deer don’t touch them which for us is a must.

And they grow in total shade and blasting son. We do not have poison ivy up here nor can we get ivy to grow.
