Groundhogs in trees ???

Groundhogs are good climbers, because they are actually in the squirrel family.

Yep.... I didn't believe it until one ground hog ate every peach in our five trees!! And, the bugger did it in one week!!/w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif/w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif

Needless to say, he is in ground hog heaven (or hell) depending upon how things went in its lifestyle, of course. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Can't figure out what is worse - deer or ground hogs. Man they are a PITA.

I got them boulth. I am thinking that when the house is done, and my three dogs show up, that will keep them in check a bit.

Driving along the interstate, I have seen many groundhogs feeding along the side of the road and many that didn't make it to the other side. Also seen many redtail hawks on fence posts. But I was amazed one morning to pass a huge groundhog perched on top of a fence post. Yes they can climb.

BTW, the most efficient whistlepig eliminator I have found is a .22-250.

Thats one of the things I like about my land. I have two hawks the live in the back part of it. Nice to see them flying around when I am mowing, waiting for me to flush out a few voles for there dinner.

It is especially nice when you see the hawks swoop by the window trying to catch a bird on the feeder. I think it is neat but there are others in this house that don't appreciate nature that close and personal.

We also have a pair of redtail hawks on the back of our property. I like to hear their shrill "skreeeeeeee" call in the early morning. But, they sure play heck on our limited quail population.
