On many of the mowers it seems they make the discharge chute extra long. If it were mine I would use a cut off tool and remove about 6 inches of the chute. MAKING SURE, not to remove too much. Maybe remove a couple inches at a time until you are comfortable. If you keep about 3" or so from the edge of the deck you should be ok. A lot of people have rigged up string, bungy cord etc. to hold the chute up. I would rather not do that.I want the flapper gone simply because it hangs out so far and gets in the way.
