GT235 Problem

My 2001 gt235 with the 18hp Vangaurd has been having issues. It will start and run with the choke slightly on but if you take it off it will stall. Today I noticed a hose from the side of the carb was spurting out fuel

I tried pluging it with a screw but gas came out of the carb intake as soon as I started the mower.


I need to get this fixed ASAP because its gonna snow tonight and I will plow it with my homemade plow. Any help is appreciated.

Crossing my fingers someone knows what the fix was for this GT235, mine is now doing the same exact thing. It only stays running using the choke, gives a puff of black smoke once in awhile now too. Your help is appreciated!
