GT245 and exhaust deflector

I have a gt245.It was smoking,flooding,not starting,poor starting,carb was icing,
.The latest problem was a kinked external vent tube for carb. .I use premium fuel,a weather front in the winter,
fuel stabilizer,seafoam,in every tank,changed air filter .It is running okay
now but overall,I think that this engine(20 hp aircooled) has some design flaws and I would not recommend it
