I am the proud owner of a new Cub Cadet GT2550. I mowed my hilly 2 acres with it already and I am quite happy with it so far. I was considering a John Deere X320, but felt the GT2550 was much more tractor for less money. And since I have a lot of hills, I was more comfortable the the cast iron serviceable rearend and shaft drive. So far so good.

Now a question. It seems that reverse is very slow on the GT 2550. It seems I have to push the reverse pedal the whole way to the floor to get it to move and then it is slow. Is this normal or should I contact the dealer and have it checked out?

Thanks,
Dave

I haven't had to make the adjustment on my 2542 but I've seen several replies to similar questions about the 2500 series in this forum. Here's an example - link. You may be able to find other threads by searching the forum.

Congrats on the purchase and hope this helps.

Thanks RJ-NC,

That link was very helpful. I did perform a search earlier today, but I guess I missed that one. Thanks for helping me out.
