Greetings. Post title is the question! My father has a GT275 w/snowblade, and also a JD snowblower... so he has offered me the blade. Dealer wants like $800 for the GT235 one, and since we are supposed to get a foot or so of snow in 48 hrs. I thought I'd see if his blade can be adapted. Dealer thought not.

I do not have a part number, unfortunately.

Advice is appreciated - including a better price on a blade, etc. Yes, my signature line shows that I own a Kubota tractor. I sold it last year ;(

Howdy snpower! I used to live in Ruckersville myself back around 1983. Beautiful country up there.

Ok, on your snowblade: you didn't specify what was the length, so I have a yes and no answer for you. According to Deere.com: a 44" (M044FBX model) will fit, but you may have to also have the retrofit lift kit. Not sure on that one. That appears to be the only model that will fit successfully.

I'll try to post the link here: John Deere - Parts Catalog

Yeah, that worked somewhat. Look for the line that shows M044FBX on it. You should be able to click on the line(s) and see what the blade looks like.

From what little I remember of those two series of GT's, they are basically the same tractors and share the same hoods and side panels as some of the LX series tractors. (Expensive hoods at that!).

The GT 275 has a little more robust Tufftorq transmission compared to the GT 235.

HTH.

With snow that close, then get the blade and see if it will or won't fit. If not, look at making some modification (jury-rigged, or whatever) to custom fit it together. Not much to lose, and everything to gain.. IMO

Snpower- I have the exact situation, except I own the 275 and my father owns the 235. I have the blade and I want to see if it fits his 235. I see you have had some success. Did you have to retrofit the blade? Or did the blade for the 235 without any modification? Thanks! Enjoy playing in the snow. Should be a big storm.

Heh, if we get all the snow the models are suggesting, you are going to appreciate having that blade. But I think you will really need a bigger tractor! Seeing 24-30" totals being batted around for Charlottesville.

Well I had a BX2360 that I sold last year - one of those things I didn't have to have and needed to get rid of overhead at the time. I am missing it, at the moment !!!

I can just barely keep up; going out every 3-4 hours, excluding during the night. Very impressed with the GT235 and what it can do with this lightweight blade. Not even running with the skids on my gravel drive, the gravel really isn't being displaced. Definitely could have used chains... I have one set of wheel weights on the rear and a 50 lb. sandbag on either side of me.

I'm impressed myself. I believe I have the same plow. I have chains but no weights. So I strapped a 3 ton floor Jack to the back that weighs 96 lbs. this snow is crazy. I live next to a corn field so the drifts are intense. This s the first time I've used this tractor for snow. I don't know what I would do without it.
