I need help! I have these small gumball trees on my land. Ive cleared everything else off but these small stubs are still sticking up out of the ground about 5''. I need advice on getting rid of these stupid things. Ive rented a 90 hp bobcat on tracks w/ toothbar and it just stripped them. Ive also bushhogged them and thats why I have only 5" out of the ground. Can I spray them or something? Help me please Im building a home and barn there right now. The roots on these things are about 2 or 3 feet in the ground and I have hundreds of them so I cant dig that deep into the ground to get them out. Thanks!

Sounds like you should have rented a backhoe. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif The other thing I've seen people do is dig part way down, then cut them off below the surface with an axe or chainsaw. Of course you'd like to keep any dirt out of your chainsaw, if possible.

Ask your Bobcat rental store if he has one of these? They call these tree and root bucket and would be perfect for what your doing.

I don't see why not? I made mine fit a Bobcat universal mount, It would depend how your bucket would attach to your tractor. I am sure you could do a search and come up with some good results. Here is back side
I made this from 3/8 plate and reinforced all over and I added hoops for lifting and strapping trees to bucket for transplanting, Its nothing more than a huge shovel 4 feet long and 14 inches wide
