Tractor Sizing Guys, I’m looking for comparisons for a new tractor package.

I went on the Kubota website and "built" a Grand. They are available with a mid pto still. Here's the "build" sheet:

The backhoe adds almost 8K to the price tag. Are you SURE you need a backhoe? Like all the time? Can't rent one for those occasional jobs?

And wtf, they only offer up to a 2 year warranty? That stinks, I didn't remember that.

Mid PTO, yes. There's no mid mount deck offered. I think the PTO powers the front snowblower, sweeper, front mounted flail mower and maybe something else, but they do not offer a mid mount finish mower deck for any of the Grand L 60 line that I could find. The only mower offered is the front flail mower.

How about a nice ZT with a leaf vacuum? Get did of the riders and the blowers.

He said the wife doesn't like their dixie chopper, so I'm guessing that's a no go, since he wants something she'll mow with.

Maybe keep the L3301 and just get a BX for the wife? I've often thought how nice it would be to have a BX for the little jobs like mulch that the L3301 is just overkill for.

Ah, sorry I missed that. What tasks did you have in mind for the backhoe? If nothing specific, then you might be able to get by with the baby on the BX23S.

I put together a few options and thoughts....

1. Sell them all get a B2650 with BH, MMM... here you would loose some weight, but it would allow you to get rid of the rest of the machines. Still not sure on the leaf vacuum and this machine....you would probably have to remove the BH each time you want to use it.

2. Keep the L3301, get a BX23S with MMM. This allows you to sell the other mowers, but you will still have 2 machines...2 oil changes, 2 failure points, etc.

3. Keep the L3301, sell the ZT and get a backhoe and a finish mower. Wife can use the standard rider while you finish mow. If she likes the finish mower, then you can get rid of the rider as well.

4. Probably the most mowing efficient option: Keep the L3301 get a finish mower. Keep the ZT and sell the others. Wife uses the L3301, you use the ZT. If you choose any option that gets rid of the ZT, your mowing time goes up.
