Gx 335 ignition problem

I have a JD GX 335 And have had no issues until now. It wouldn't start the other day So I jumped it and went on my merry way. When I had to jump it again, I let it idle with the parking brake applied and smelled an electrical burning smell. A resistor on the ignition circuit board burned out. I replaced it and it did it again So obviously there is another problem. Does anybody have a clue what it might be.
