H.S.T. Cruise Control

Seems to be more people over here. On my DX 33 (Same as a TC 33DA) the cruise control works sporadically. Is there something I can look for before hauling the tractor to the dealer? I’ve already unplugged the connector down at the lock next to the pedal to check for connection. When you push the button, the light comes on, but you don’t hear the click, and then the light goes back off when you release it. But then it may start working for awhile. But it is now working less and less. I was hoping maybe this has happened to someone else and they can tell me what to look for. In info would be appreciated.

There is a switch controlled by the brake pedal that needs to be depressed for the cruise to work. If not aligned properly it will prevent the cruise from engaging.

It is easy to see from underneath but you'll need a very small boxend wrench to get a couple of the bolts off.

Can I put a jumper in to bypass it to see of it works? If that's it, then I'll adjust it.

I don't have my manual handy so I can't say if it an N/O or N/C switch. It also controls the start circuit so you may not get the tractor started.

I would just let the break off, make sure the switch is aligned on the pedal, and see if the cruise will engage. Don't even have to start the engine for this.

That’s a lot of good reading. I’ll run a few tests when I get off work tomorrow. I’ll have to find that brake switch. At least by that thread I know I don’t have to have the tractor running to do some of these tests. Thanks.

Eureka! You guys rock. It was the brake switch. Totally out of adjustment. The tab on the brake pedal just barely touches the bolt on the switch. Now to get some light under there to adjust it over about ¼”. Thanks gang.
