Mourning dove are being displaced by Eurasian collared dove (Streptopelia decaocto) in Texas. Since seeing them for the first time about 6-8 years ago,I estimate they have replaced about 30% of Mourning dove.
We have one or two quail families every year around our place. My next door neighbor widow is fanatic about feeding all the different birds around here. They feel quite welcome I guess. Sometimes I have to stop at my driveway entrance and let all the little ones pass. Very cute.
