Since posting this, I have decided to look into the JD 2520, not the 2320.

Does anyone know how the NH TC24D and the JD 2520 compare? The NH was a 2003 with a 12LA loader and a 756 hoe. A tree took it out :-( so I am thinking about getting a JD 2520 with a 200CX loader and a 46 hoe. I was very happy with the weight/size/capacities of the NH, so am looking for the same thing or a slight upgrade in JD.

I have heard the actual loader lift capacity is less on the JD, so that's a bummer if true. Is it?

Thanks.

I would say the 2520 is an upgrade over the TC24. The 2520 has a direct injection engine, and generates a peak torque of 63.9 lb-ft at only 1200 rpm. The rated speed is 2600rpm vs the TC24's higher speed (2850 I think?) and the engine displacement is larger (1.3L vs. 1.1L I think). Also note that the 2520 is about 250 pounds heavier and has a wheelbase that is 7.5 inches longer. Both have 2 speed HST transmissions.

With regard to loaders - there are tons of specs out there so you have to look for a way to campare apples to apples, as it were. However the 12LA has lift capacity to 59 inches @ 500mm forward of the pivot pin of 890 pounds compared to 829 for the 200CX. Breakout force (which I think is more important) at the pivot pin is 1720 for the 12LA vs. 2239 for the 200CX.

Another nice thing about the 2520 is the independent PTO which is really slick - something the TC24 does not have. Good luck with your shopping!

If your looking for an upgrade, you'll want a bigger tractor. In real world use it would be hard to tell the difference between the machines your considering.

I think the original poster indicated he didn't want a larger tractor - just wanted a slight upgrade. The 2520 seems like a slight upgrade over the old tractor.

Not to pick, but you use a "sad" symbol for loosing the tractor and we (most anyway love our tractors), so why look at Deere, especially considering you think/heard the lift is less? Keep in mind, I bleed green so I have no problem in you switching, but NH does have models which are slight upgrades and yes, the 2520 will be an upgrade!
