Kubota BX2350
Here's my BX2350 issue list as of today (tractor has 21.7 hours):

1. 2.3 hours - Dealer didn't top off hydraulic fluid after installing loader. Couldn't even see fluid in dipstick hole. Fluid sample was nasty. Took several weeks to resolve with Kubota. Ended up with free 50 hour service and extended powertrain covereage. ROOT CAUSE - Dealer

2. 2.3 hours - front axle very low on fluid. Took just shy of 2 quarts to get to full on dipstick. ROOT CAUSE - Kubota Mfg.

3. 5.7 hours - Removed MMM for winter. Two of the quick thread knobs (that hold the poly belt shields on) were missing. Dealer indicated they must have fallen off while mowing, and it was my responsibility (aka $$$) to replace them. ROOT CAUSE - Kubota Mfg.

4. 11.2 hours - Hydraulic fluid started running out all over the rear axle. Verdict - Kubota pinched a transmission line under the fuel tank, and it rubbed through. ROOT CAUSE - Kubota Mfg.

5. 13.5 hours - Mice chewed up the air cleaner burp valve, coolant overflow tank hoses, and just about any other rubber parts they could taste. Kubota is stored in new shed with Cub Cadet and other equipment (none of which have been eaten). Apparently Kubota is making their tractors out of cheese. Spent $45 in replacement parts. ROOT CAUSE - Furry Rodents!

6. 15.0 hours - Noticed that right FEL mount bracket was loose on tractor. None of bolts on right side were more than finger tight. ROOT CAUSE - DEALER

Obviously I'm less than happy so far with the purchase. Granted the mice were not Kubota's doing, but the other 5 issues are the result of poor assembly quality, poor inspection, and poor dealer PDI (pre-delivery inspection). My hope is that I can move on past these startup issues and have good results from now on. I've been combing over the tractor and attachments before operation.

Any others with similar experiences?

I think your axle and knobs should be dealer as they must have some responsibilty to prep a machine. Some issues like fluid levels should also be checked by the operator before every use or at fuel stops. The rodents are hard to deal with:D

When you bought from this dealer was he your local dealer?

Sorry to hear of your issues.
Approx 300 hrs on a 2004 BX23, no issues to date (knock on wood).

35 hours

1) MMM zerks stripped on two wheels, dealer will replace N/C during 50 HR.

2) HST issues with sudden stop during reverse (no known cure)

For me my local dealer and Kubota gets an a-plus as I have been more that a little bit hard on this little guy.

 I'd put everything on your dealer -other than the mice and maybe the hydro line.

When my 2350 was delivered my dealer went line by line through the pre-sale inspection list - including certifying he checked all fluid levels. His technician had initialed each line. Plus, I think Kubota ships almost all fluid levels low and requires they be topped off before delivery. Sounds to me like that didn't happen.

Mine? Other than fixing everything I've asked for, no problems at all. They fixed the supports, grips, gauges and a couple of grease zerks - picked up and delivered the machine (70 miles each way) free of charge. Fine machine. Great service.

Purchased my BX2350 in April 2007. Hydraulic oil was down over 2 quarts, I assume that was because the front end loader was attached after the hydraulic oil was topped off. Front axle was down over a quart. My dealer assured me that this small amount would cause no problems and UPS'd me a gallon. Two zerks came off before I changed to a nylon pressure type grease fitting.

My major gripe is the three point and my inability to raise it in small amounts, its all or nothing at all RPMs. My dealer says this is normal??

Got the new seat but it cost me $40.00.

All in all I'm impressed and happy. and no rodent problems.

I'm a new owner of a BX2350 but I've learned how to make small adjustments of the 3PH. When the control lever is moved all the way in either direction from center, the hitch moves quickly. But move the lever a third of the way or so and the hitch moves slowly. With it moving slowly relatively fine adjustments are possible. The hitch moves until the lever is returned to center; it's not a position type control.

All well and good until you are bouncing along the terrain at 5 MPH looking over your shoulder to adjust the height of the box blade and with that eye in the back of your head, looking to make sure you don't run into a tree. The poor adjustability of the 3PH height is one of the issues that relegates the BX machine to the "homeowner" category of use. If true position control was a $500 option, I would probably consider the purchase.

That said, I LOVE my machine and wouldn't trade it for the world. I have had ZERO problems and hate to hear that someone has any type of issue with Kubota. Seems like your dealer is a little lax in the delivery category.

I would also like position control, but it looks like you have to move to a considerably larger and more expensive tractor to get it. Perhaps someone will come up with either a convesion, or a work-around. One idea I had was some sort of gauge to indicate hitch height.

David, when using your procedure on my three point I only get noise then a fraction of an inch more on the lever and up it comes fast. I complained to my dealer and to his credit he sent a man 80 miles to my place. After playing with it he said it was normal. It is interesting though that your three point works different then mine.

The 50 series have the 1/4" function. Mine was all messed up and needed adjustment. While not perfect it limits lever travel to acheive slow travel.

55 hours of joy on it up to now and only 3 things bad;

1- replace the seat for the new model.
2- the HST pedal damper just unscrewed and hag down, not a big fix
3- to pay it every month.

Why did you take the damper off the HST pedal?

No, the rod eye of the damper unscrew by vibration, I imagine. I fix it with locktite and screwing back.

Mine fell off also - although I did notice the reverse sudden stop was not as bad when it was off....

Several:
At around 10 hours, I couldn't turn the thing off with the key! Turned out a harness had been pinched during assembly that shorted the fuel shut off solenoid. House call and then a tow-in to fix.
Not long after that, I noticed that the tractor would keep moving even after releasing the HST pedal. Reverse was very abrubt, but forward would drive itself on to the trailer and the brake pedal worked hard to slow it. dealer made a house call and told me it was possibly my driving style. I doubted it, but was willing to watch how I used the pedal. Often 2700+ rpm, coming off the pedal fast would make it better, but if i tried to finesse lets say while I'm trying to hitch a trailer, put on the loader, pick up something with the loader, etc., I would hit stuff. My barn door, my old Range Rover, trees.
Dropped it off, they kept it about 12 hours, told me they made some adjustment and drove it around for 1/2 hour and it was ok. I picked it up and had the same problem driving on to the trailer.
I've also lost two thumb nuts for the covers. Applied Loctite to the threads...
Lastly, I can not get it started when cold-below 25f*. I've added anti-gel to teh fuel, but almost everytime lately that I've wanted to use it, I have to drag it into the shop to warm up. I don't have a block heater, but I don't think that would help enough. Salesman says the Kubota is one of the better starting diesels, service manager says it's the worst and gives me a 10 step process to get it started that involves several glow plug cycles and cranking until the battery is almost dead (not really).
I was so excited about my first new tractor purchase, and now I'm a little disappointed. Wish I'd kept my third hand Gravely...

Dude! That story stinks! I wonder how it is that you can end up with such a bum unit. Not doubting your story at all, but it would be nice if the dealer (or Kubota) could come knock on your door and say, "Wow, man. We sure gave you one of our worse examples. How's about if we give you this other one over here and start all over again."

Given all the things I've experience personally and heard in this forum, it sounds like you're experiences are not in the majority. And you have every right to be a little torqued after the money you spent.

Hope she starts holding together for you a little better.

One of the reasons I purchased a Kubota was a result of friend's recommendations and having used their equipment.
I'm frustrated, but not yet mad. Truthfully, the dealer has tried and I don't doubt their abilities to resolve this, and we're not there yet, but this seems like a lot of issues for a less than one year old, 33 hour farmette implement.
I work from home restoring and maintaining Land Rovers and just don't have enough room to store my BX in the heated part of the barn all winter.

roverlab, last year i had trouble starting my 2200.used a block heater, additives in fuel, charger on battery. even put a heat lamp under it. mine is stored in an unheated barn. this year i got my deisel from another place and i got it late fall. i get enought fuel for a yr. at a time. the coldest days we had this year. 10 to 15 sec. on the glow plugs and it starts.
