When you bought from this dealer was he your local dealer?

Yeah, I used my local dealer. I've also been trying to get a replacement seat, but the parts department keeps saying there are "24,000 on backorder in the United States" without offerring to put my name on a list or contact me when they get some in stock.

Unfortunately, I'm thinking I'm stuck with a not so excellent dealer.

Where in Iowa did you buy. I also am in Iowa and am looking at getting a 3030, but want to avoid your dealer

Dropped it off last Friday for teh issue with the HST. Both the service manager and a mechanic rode around in the parking lot with me-not all at once!- and experienced exactly what I am concerned about.
I'll post an update as soon as I hear back from them.
By the way, they were very receptive to my concerns and treated me kindly with what I believe to be a true desire to fix this problem.

I also have the forward drag after letting off but not nearly as bad as yours sounds. Mine will just barely creep forward unless I tap on the reverse pedal then it will stop.
Reverse still sucks, hopefully they find a fix for that!

Got it back and it's definetly better, but not quite right. Reverse is very abrupt when you let off the pedal (bet it would lift the wheels if the loader wasn't on)and in certain conditions, like 2500+ rpm and gradual slow release while travelling forward, will still allow the tractor to travel. Sometimes it will stop or slow considerably, other times it keeps going at more than walking pace.
So what do I do? Do lemon laws apply to garden tractors? How many more visits should I put up with before getting angry? (We're at 4 now for the same issue-1 house call that I was charged for and three times I've trailered it in.)
Oh, and the service manager tells me that the shop manual states that the tractor can take up to 9 ft. to stop. (I forgot to ask for a copy of that text.)
9ft!
Time to trade it on a Deere? I mean, after all, it does have 37 hours on it.

Once something like that starts to bug you, sometimes it is hard to make peace with it. I had a truck like that once, and I think I almost became over sensitized to the problem. I know that it bothered me every time it acted up although the district rep said the problem was just on the edge of normal. I did trade that truck off much earlier than I usually do, and never missed it. I guess you will have to judge for yourself how to best deal with it. It sure is frustrating though when you pay a lot of money for something ( the truck was the first new one I had been able to pay cash for), and then have something drive you a little nuts about it. Sure hope it all works out for you.

Mine does the same thing. I looked the pedal over and could not find anything wrong, then I read this thread. Right now mine is very slight does not really bother me. I hope I stay this way with it.

Chuck, you've probably hit the nail on the head as far as anticipation of an issue versus sensitivity. But I've hit stuff-barn doors, chicken coops, kids toys, but fortunately not customer's Rovers as a result of not being able to control the forward motion. Sometimes, the brakes strain very hard-hydraulic noises heard when hard on the brakes-to stop her.
The last time I loaded her on the trailer, she drove her self up the ramps and on to the deck!
Anybody around Central PA willing to let me have a ride on there 'Bota?

K-fan, nice positive spin!

Got a call this morning from the dealer and they came over right away to pick-up my bota! Apparently, the regional rep wants to see the issue for himself and implement some ideas.
The last go round resulted in adjustments being made into areas that are out of the specified range.
I'm still pleased with the effort that the dealer is putting into trying to resolve this. I wish them luck!

Just keep us up to date if they find a fix.
Good luck
