maybe we should plant fish of frogs...I was gonna do a few tomatoes and maybe some bell pepper but I cant find any aqaudic versions...

Checked the weather report for the next 15 days at Accu-Weather. No rain. We have had our share of rain here in Southeastern Michigan until Friday. Looks like last year. Lots of rain in the spring and almost drought for the summer. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

My first summer in our new AZ home! Rain? hah. We've had 5+ inches for the year so far; all of that came in January and February...nothing since. The remainder of our annual 10 inch total supposedly comes during the "monsoon" season...yes they call it that here. The official definition for the onset of the monsoon season is when the dewpoint reaches 55° for three consecutive days /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif (typically early July).

That sounds about right, Hank. When I visited Wilcox for a few days one January, it didn't look like it ever rained there, but I was told they get an annual rainfall of 7 inches, 5 of it in July. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif I think we've had 3 to 5 in the last 3 or 4 days and gonna get more in the next few hours.

The weatherman said we managed to have 5 rainfree weekends this year so far. We're ahead of "normal", but I don't know how much. The creeks are up and the grass is going nuts......................chim

Hey Bird,

Coming from MD, I do miss the rain a bit. However, I am rapidly accomodating to this desert environment. It is truly amazing how vairious flora and fauna adapt here. Everything is very hardy, and they all seem to have thorns, stickers, stingers, or fangs. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif You do not want to go pull a plant out of the ground without gloves....it will bite you.
