Depends on what you buy at walmart. Some of thir stuff is better ,or equal to items sold elsewhere
I have bought romex, electrical boxes, switches, etc, at walmart that was equal to those items sold at Lowes , HD

Thing is, as has been noted on other threads also, most of that stuff is all made by a few companies and re-branded by retailer. It may be the same quality, because it's the same stuff in a different package. Same thing with 'generic store branded' foods and clothing. But I'll never set foot in a WM store so I won't be able to compare for certain.

As far as the best diesel in the world. I would say yanmar takes that spot

I still can't believe Detroit Diesel and a couple of others let that market get away from them. My very first ever diesel is a Yanmar, so I can only hope it's as good and durable as most people here claim they are.

Leased a 40 hp Mahindra for a month from a friend. He warned me that it over heated. Taking some precautions I cleaned the radiator with compressed air and tightened the belt that drove the water pump. Mowed with it about an hour and it began to heat up. After some research I removed the engine side panels. Running it this way I was able to mow continously since it had better air flow. I figured it to be a design flaw. The only time my Kubota's run hot is if I forget to clean the radiator with compressed air.

My Kubota and yanmar will do that. When cutting my field, I have to head back to the barn every so often and blow out the side panels and radiator

If you lived around these parts you would either drive a long distance, or go to WM. I live about 40 miles from the big city. 10 miles from WM. So, If I only need a few items, I go to WM

I have owned my 1980's yanmar tractor for 10? yrs. Haven't had an engine related issue yet.

At least we can agree that the Japanese make the best diesel in the world.

Gotta say, fit & finish was way down my list of requirements when buying a tractor that was likely going to get dinged up and scratched in the woods and dirt. It's nice in an aesthetic way that my Branson, inexpensive as it was, looked amazing brand-new (still nice now) but ... are you guys taking your tractors to shows or something?

I couldn’t care less how smooth the front axel casting is. I do care how smooth the loader valve and other controls is.

It's a perception thing probably, but if I look at something and the cosmetics or overall appearance show little attention to detail or minor flaws, I'm only going to assume the internals that I cannot see were slapped together with equal lack of care.

This thread is now reading like a bunch of kids posting: "My tractor is better than yours".

Like I say about most subjective arguments, "To each, their own". What ever makes us and our choices as individuals happy. ;)

Fact of the matter is for me, it is no less a toy than a boat. It is not a necessity nor is the recreational land where it lives. I'm pretty sure I could hire out all the "work" I have to do and still spend less than my toy costs. So yeah, I want a nice shiny, brand new, good name brand rhinestone framing machine.

Some of these disagreements become serious and for what? These are toys for most of us.
