I can't tell from the pictures but the wheels look to either be polished aluminum or a chromed aluminum, not something that will do well in the salt. The tires look like they could do well though. I didn't know if they were stock or even the correct load range for the truck though.

How did they feel on the road? BFGs are not the best riding tire on pavement but over all they do almost everything pretty good. From snow to not too deep mud. The Nittos were one of the other choices out there but I haven't found a lot of information on them.

They're good heavy aluminum rims, chromed I guess. No they won't do well in the salt. Also the rims are offset too wide. Tires are outside fenders. Can't get an inspection sticker, also the dirt roads or salt sand will beat the paint off of the fenders. I'm hoping to find a young guy with stock rims and (10 ply)tires to swap with. The tires on there are 10 plys. Good heavy set, but too cool for me.

It will be tough to find these rims and tires. The 2500 GM trucks of that era used 245 tires and different rims than the 3500 SRW trucks had. The truck you have, a 3500 SRW, will need 265 tires to be stock.

GM made 10 to 1 2500 series trucks to the 3500 series trucks in that era. You may find the wheels but will have to buy the right tires.

I agree. Chances are I'll pick up a set of rims from a junk yard. I was actually considering putting on a 285. It's got 17 inch rims with 285's now. My speedo will be off for a bit until i recalibrate.

You know of any aftermarket brand rims that would be rated, and not be crazy price?

I bought from them sight unseen - the truck is a 97 Ford F250 - came to me in NC looking brand new - no ding - no rust. Honest folks - were willing to take it back if I didn't like it. Still have it 5 years later and it runs like a sewing machine. You won't go wrong dealing with Mark and Coleen. When I need an "new" truck, I will fly back to VA and buy fron them.
