I don't see how a rope pump would work in a well with a submerged pump. The link though mentioned "Nira-, Afridev-, Indian Mark- and Volanta pumps" that are being used around the world. So far I have not really found a website with a good "blue print" of the pump design. Though this link, Afridev Pump — RWSN community site is not bad except that these pump look like they might interfere with an existing pump.
These pumps are supposed to be public domain designs so anyone can use them.
