Handicapped Parking Tags

Off topic but I love the privileged idiots that park in front of the gas pump and run in to get a coffee and pump no gas.

Also park at pump go into the store and purchase Lottery tickets and do the scratching on the counter holding up those who had purchased fuel from paying .
and seem to park the little whiz bangs at the diesel pump. preventing the trucks from fueling also.

In a big box store one time the lot was full. I mean fulllll. I just dropped my wife off and I just drove around the lot a couple times, then I saw a couple handicapped spots open. I figured I would land there, keep the motor running, keep an eye out for my wife and also any handicappers looking for a spot. Big mistake on my part. A handicapper signaled to come in so I started to back out and leave the spot and he started to scream and read me the riot act while in his car. I learned my lesson from a thin skinned handicapper.

If any of you every have to see an Orthopedic Surgeon you will know why handicapped spaces are at a premium. I have never had an appointment with my surgeon that the front was not full of folks. Increased lifespans, aging baby boomers, etc...are all contributing to these handicap parking issues. For those that really need it great. But as with anything else the bad apples take advantage of the situation.

If you can get in a lifted pickup you can walk 50 feet farther.

I dunno about that. I had a hip replaced, needed a walker for a couple weeks, couldn't walk without it. Did have a problem gettin IN the truck but once in it no problem and could drive as well as I ever could. DMV threatedned to pull my license since I used the walker getting into the office. She didn't push it but If she tried I would have insisted ona driver test.

Anyway, the tag needs to have a pic of the person so it cannot be shared.

Somewhat difficult with a work vehicle that can transport many disabled clients, we often drop one off or pick one up from different locations, just an ordinary car with no organisation name on it but I do take your point.

The truck I drove the other day was my neighbors that he bought last year. He and his girlfriend both have mobility problems. I don't. I had a hard time climbing up into that truck. I was supposed to drive them thirty miles to a doctors appointment today and he asked me if I could drive the Pilot because it would be easier for her to get in and out of.

I asked him why he bought that jacked up four wheel drive monstrosity. He said they might need it when it snowed.

The roads around here are impassable due to snow a week or two every other year. When there is snow they don't get out.

But he farmed for years and has always had a large jacked up four wheel drive pickup.

Anyway, a relative called and insisted that he would take them to the doctor and so I was relieved of that duty and instead had to help the wife babysit the 4.5 and 1.5 year old grandkids.
