There is a wiring harness that goes over the engine
with one white wire sticking out. The wire ends with
a white quick-connect connector(female). It is not connected to anything and it doesn't appear that there is anything around it that it could connect to. (wordy??)
If haven't chased it back through the harness, to it's source but was wondering if any one knew -- what's up this wire?

If your Kubota operator's manual has a wiring schematic for the tractor, you should be able to trace it backward to see if it's connected to a switch....maybe for lights, horn, or something else. It's probably for something, but I can't tell you what (you already knew that!).

I got out my Fluke 77 multimeter and chased the dangling wire. The white wire with a female quick-connect inside the engine compartment ends inside the battery compartment. The wire ends into a 4 plug female quick-connect connector. There is no matching connector, the plug just hangs there on the left side of the battery.

The four plug connector has four wire attached to it.

1) White wire from the engine compartment.

2) Red wire with a green tracer connects to the fuse block and has a fifteen amp fuse installed. It has 12 volts on it all of the time.

3) Red wire with a black tracer connects to the starter switch and when the switch is turned to ON, it has 12 volts.

4) Black wire that connects to chassis ground.

Also there a 6 fuses in the fuse block which is located
on the right side of the battery, but only three are used
in the BX2200.

One of the fuses is labeled SOLENDIO. (sic)
One powers the instrument panel.
I have not yet determinded what the third fuse controlls.

Of the extra three fuses, two of the fuses have a singular wire that connects to both sides of the fuse.(Looped back in electronics terms.)

The remaining extra fuse is used as described above.

The extra fuse blocks also contains some extra fuses.
(2 @ 15 amps and one @ 20)

Appears as though that Kubota had the fore thought to add
a line into the engine compartment for some type of electric
device and has pre-engineered it to be either "hot" or switchable.
