Happy Ending

You are correct, I have no evidence they were aware of it. Just as you have no evidence they did not.

Plausible deniability at it's finest. :confused2:

guys, I'm pretty muzzled here and would like to stay out of hot water, but if you want to know how this came down, just email me offline. What's ironic here is that my last post, which was rejected, tells what I hope is an evenly presented issue, with some interesting challenges to a vendor who reboxes someone else's product but puts their name on the box.

So what is "left out there" is potentially negative, and I'm not allowed to correct any misunderstandings, including those of my own. I won't break the rules, but hopefully no one will object to us talking offline if any of you are curious. I like the vendor, that's never been the issue; it's the vendor's supplier who is presenting the problem, but hey, the only people I can complain to is whoever took my money. I just wish they would add twenty bucks to the price of the plow and be able to satisfy everyone, the old line farmers who probably aren't buying a little plow like this anyway, and us newbies and small fry who are used to better fit and finish.

all is well, really. daugen@voicenet.com Drew

You're absolutely right, but that's a novel way of thinking to say the least. I don't figure I need any evidence because I didn't accuse anyone of anything, as you did.

Let's see . . . if we use your way of thinking, then if one of your neighbors tells everyone that you stole his lawnmower, he doesn't need any evidence. Instead everyone he tells can be convinced he's right and it's up to you to provide evidence that you didn't do it.

I don't believe anyone would last long in law enforcement if they thought way.:laughing:

Hello fellas,

I moved this thread to the News/Feedback forum because it is mostly discussing opinions on the TBN moderation. I'm just keeping things organized.

While I'm here, please know that all moderators at TBN do our best to be honest and fair at all times, but with hundreds of new posts added every day, we rely on TBN members to notify us of offensive behavior.

The thread was originally brought to our attention due to name calling and offensive things said towards the OP. Overall, things just got out of hand. So please understand our sole intent is to keep TBN a friendly, enjoyable place to be for all people.

I'm glad things were resolved for you Daugen. Now let's move on to having fun on our tractors.

All the Best,

Glad that the dealer came through for you. Good luck on your garden and best wishes to your wife in her battle with cancer.

This is getting to be ridiculous, I called the seller in question and spoke with one of his people and made them aware of the thread. Things happened fast after that, the contact with the buyer and the thread was removed.

Before I called I checked the customers profile and the last posting was mid Feb. he may have been too busy with his business to be aware of all of this. When notified though they promptly took action, I hope the buyer and the seller are satisfied with the adjustments. I don't see ragging on everyone invoved servers any good purpose.

daugen, I made the simple short phone call, you could have done that before posting any of this.

Situations like this are why I use the "buckshot" approach if I have a problem with a product or service. I ensure that posts about the problem are distributed to multiple blogs and forums, spread across multiple servers in different countries. They might get one but they won't get them all.

I'm no lawyer so take this with a grain of salt, but legally speaking, one must also ensure that they only state the facts because one could potentially be held liable for anything which is said online.

In a politically-erect, sue-happy society, censorship is just part of the game.

Personally, I can't blame any forum or website for not wanting to become part of any legal dispute, but if I have a problem with a product or service, you can bet that I will find some way of voicing my opinion. Fortunately, the internet is a big place so there are many ways of doing it.

Recently I had a post in another thread deleted. OK...fine; but it sure would be nice if the TBN C-E-N-S-O-R-S would tell you in their notifying email what you did wrong so you can learn from your (in their minds) error(s). I had to email the moderator to find out what I did wrong, to which I did a reply.

If speaking my mind puts me on the **** list...so be it.

Yup, I know that now. The challenge is that none of this would have seen the light of day, we would not have had a discussion on reasonable expectations for new equipment and the dealer would have covered over/handled the problem, and the next guy will get a poorly painted plow too. So I'm hoping there was some benefit to this for others. All the dealer was going to do was send me a couple cans of paint. Is that what would satisfy most people?

Some yes, but one of the most telling statements made by the dealer in question was that "internet customers expect shiny unscratched new equipment in sturdy boxes." And because of my upset, which the dealer absolutely agreed with., he was going to talk to the original mfg and try to get them to up their painting game. And that's where I hope this helps someone else.

So yes, next time I'll call, and then document the process. But I really didn't want his two cans of paint; I have plenty of IH red paint already.
This is about managing expectations, and rather belatedly, by the owner calling me and telling me his tale of woe over sick employees, which was his reason for a slow reply, I was satisfied.

And this is why I have now learned to look first, buy later, and after this experience, my local dealer who understands my expectations presents a better value to me. I wanted to support this company because I loved their videos. Next time I'll pick a product they make themselves.

in case any of you guys are still tuned into this thread, I wanted to end Happy Ending with just that, and let you see that all is well that ends well.
My wife and I planted for four hours this morning, getting in seed before the big rains coming, and had a wonderful time together. She organizes things well and makes the signs for what's where. And Tom the Tortoise stands guard until I can get the solar powered electric fence hooked up next week. Rabbits and groundhogs and of course deer are all likely to visit. I hope to make their visit unpleasant, but not fatal, though I haven't met a ground hog I liked...

Russet and Red Pontiac potatoes, Dixie White, Fordhook and Henderson baby limas, all kinds of pole and bush beans, Hungarian yard long cukes, plus three other cukes including a lemon variety. That should be a very strange cucumber but I wanted to try it... Trombetta squash, scallop squash (I am so tired of zucchini...) plus way too many assorted pumpkins, including giants. Haven't planted them yet, waiting another couple weeks, plus the other half of the garden which will be in two kinds of old fashioned yellow corn and one Silver Queen.

So....that to me is the ultimate Happy Ending, just thinking about all that good stuff on the way. Have a nice weekend.
