happy thanksgiving to all

The kids had obligations to the families of their significant others, so it was the two of us. We invited a good friend whom lives alone and she is without close family. The meal was delicious with a little Beethoven in the back ground and enjoyable conversation. The kids will be over this evening and the house will be full again, a different kind of joy.. A very pleasant Thanksgiving for us.

The wife wasn't too happy when she found out there were three NFL games being televised today. She wanted to go running around town shopping and I told her "after the game". What time is it over, she asks? I told her around 11 PM, there are three games this being the NFL channels debut Thanksgiving broadcast. She finally relented and agreed to go shopping tomorrow at 0430! I really shot myself in the foot on that deal.

My B-I-L the farmer (who I so frequently refer to) brought his family into town here in Rock Hill. His wife cooked a wonderful turkey to bring.....and forgot it! We had no turkey for Thanksgiving! But, my wife and his wife (sisters) and their other sister are such great cooks and made so much great food....there wasn't room on my plate for turkey anyway. It's ten p.m. and the top button on my pants is still open.

Lot of stuff wrong in this world but my list of things to be thankful for is a lot longer than my list of complaints. Thanks to Chris and others for the Holiday wishes and Happy Thanksgiving to all at TBN.

P.S.: Were going back down to the cabin tomorrow. My B-I-L and his wife live right down the road....I have an idea we'll get an invite to dinner and I bet I know what we're having!
