Harbor Freight 3-point quick hitch

Ok I am a little confused as I as have 1 on order/back also. I know that as recieved the bottom 2 hook up points are/possible to narrow to use. Will a 10 ton wedge on portapower move enough to use or do I need to cut & reweld? What is this top hook adapter being talked about? so far only have 1 rear 3pt attach/ blade but plan on more down the road

My experience has been this.
I ordered and it was back ordered. I finally got it. (not much wait time).
The lower slots were too narrow for the lift arm balls to slide in. Similar to the previous posted pictures. All they need it to be widened out. The bolt method seems to be the best.
I have 10 different implements, My problems arise , with the top 'hook'
when lowered, the idea is to hook it under the top implement pin. and then raise it and then you close the lower hooks.
However, all but one of my attachments have obstructions for the hook. Such as reinforcement metal. Also the height varies.
I have ordered the adapter , which can be seen in the Down loadable manual
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/manuals.taf?f=form&ItemID=93691
its an additional 8.75 dollars or so.It give you the flexibility for the height differences for the upper connection. You would have to get off the tractor to align and drive the pin in.
For the money, if it works for anyone , its good. But I also have several attachments that are home made and don't have the standard with lower pins to mate to the hitch.
I hope this helps. I presently await the upper adapter and see if I can get it working.
I would imagine that when you buy more impliments that if you make sure you have them with all the same measurements with width of the lower, and the upper you wont have a problem. The upper hook is adjustable.Do you think you have room for the hook to hook under the upper pin?

p.s. I have fond memories going to Cherokee National Forest when I lived in Athens. Absolutely the most beautiful part of the country.

It is indeed wonderful, but Yosemite and Sequoia have something to look at also.

Just got the mail, and the adapter was ordered, but is....your right back ordered.
So I just wait some more.
The post card says the order number, and to use it to check the sattus, the status when I check it is no order on record.Perhaps it hasnt been entered.

I ordered the adapter today and as others are finding, not in stock. We'll see how it works when it gets here. I used the coupon code for the three flex stubby ratchets, they might come in handy.

I know they call it a "Quick Hitch" but it takes me 5 minutes to hook up my boxblade without it. It took 45 minutes to hook it up with it. I'm having the same problem with the upper hook that others are having but in addition my implements have spacing anywhere from 25" to 29". So much for standard 26" spacing.

Mine's working great. I did swap the bolts onthe upper hook for a pins. When I'm using an implement with little clearance on the top link, I simply unpin the hook, slide it where is needs to go and repin. The only implement I have that doesn't fit is the tiller, there is too little clearance under the lower pins, (the QH lower hooks are too big).

No regrets here, it was cheap, needed to be modified, but it's working fine.

I also used pins for the top hook but could only get the top one in. The bottom hole in the upper hook wouldn't line up. I still haven't got my gloves. It may still do better on some of the other implements. For what I paid It's worth it just to tell people I have one.

Got my return approval from HF but decided to give the hitch one more chance before returning it. I chose not to bend the opening with the 'bolt' method since it probably would have voided my return option. So, I ground down the balls on the lift arm to make it fit the narrow opening. It wasn't that much of a problem and certainly did not adversley affect the integrity of the lift arm. Then, I backed it up to the ballast box for a trial fit. No go. The bottom hooks would not engage because of interference with the Quick Hitch structure and the ballast box.

That's it for me. I tried my best. But once again the admonitions of our forefathers comes to mind; The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweet taste of low price is forgotten.

So you are saying that the $240 Speedco quick hitch would work.:D IMHO, I think a lot folks jumped on this deal with out doing their homework. It is well known that this style hitch has adaptability issues. The JD i-match, speedco, and various other brands use the same design. They also have the same problems. They are great once your implements are set up.
