Harbor Freight 3-point quick hitch

dholly. Grinding the lift balls would work. This will allow less ball swivel than was originally provided. Im just not willing to modify my tractor to fit the implement - particularly when the mod would compromise the tractor rather than improving it.

I can appreciate that Larry. Personally, and I may be all wet here, but a total of 1/16" off each lift ball side just doesn't strike me as a serious operational concern. Sounds more like normal wear tolerances to me. Cie la vie, I need the gloves! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

P.S. "This will allow less ball swivel than was originally provided." Hmm, you sure you don't have that backwards?

I have the Homier version. I just used a couple of crow bars to pry the slots open far enough to accept the lift arm balls. Some of my attachments don't have clearance under the upper pin to employ the hook so I have to adjust the top link in, hook the lower pins, adjust the top link out and insert the top pin. My lower pin adapters consist of a cat 1-2 bushing followed by a 3/4" washer followed by a lynch pin.
I paid $99 for mine, felt good about it when Homier raised their price to $129, now not so good when HF is selling them for $70. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Just ordered mine - too good of a deal to pass up and I can ALWAYS use the gloves!

Thanks for bring this to my attention.

Ok, I ordered mine as well. As others have stated, "I can always use the gloves" /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

( I got one. Quality is ok for the price, but you will have to modify it to fit a cat 1. The slots for the lift arms are only 1-1/4" wide and cat 1s require 1-3/8. I called HF and got a discount. I suspect the price will continue downward.

I've been worried about this since you posted. I really didn't want to do a lot of modifications to get mine to fit.

I just got my quick hitch in this morning and pulled it out of the box and measured the slot. It is 1 3/8". Maybe they got this batch right!

It looks pretty heavy duty to me. It does say it is good for tractors up to 45hp. The toplink setup seems like it is a little to much of a one size fits all situation, it in the instructions it shows an adapter bracket to be used if the top link doesn't match up. It looks like it has about 6" of up and down the way it is but you will have to undo 2 bolts to move it up and down.

Overall for the price and how cheap shipping was I think it will work!
