Not to worry, because there is help with the quick hitch top adapter that they don't advertise on the harbor freight website. This solves the problem of the top hook being to short to attach to the top of your newer implements. I called this morning and bought part # 29309 (Hitch Adapter for For #97214 3-point Quick Hitch for $15.99 + I expedited shipping 2 business days for 14. to the PNW.

Just another option out there unless you have 3-$400 + for the top of the line quick hitch adapters made from various others, when you can have both of these for less than $100. on Sale. I will post some pictures when I get it delivered.

I think that problem happens with the other quick attaches as well, not just the HF. Like many HF "parts" it is likely in the owners manual, just not on the website.

, I haven't had to buy a top link adapter. everything is nice and tight. I run a rear blade, jd ballast, trailer mover, and subsoiler. I have a hydraulic top link as well and don't have to get out to adjust to get the qh to align. I just angle the top link forward and it sorta bites its way into the implents as I curl it back. I wish I could understand where some people have problems with the top link but I cant. If you leave the cat 2 bucshing out of the top pin, you should have plenty of play to hook in

Actually, I think that adapter is for use with implements that need a floating/flexible top link connection so they can follow the ground contour. Things like RFM's and rotary cutters. The too short top hook is a minor design flaw, but I guess the only place people complain about is here, not to HF. I'm going to modify mine to get the opening in the hook farther back, as someone here did, by slicing out the back of the inside of the front of the hook, and welding it back to the front of the rear of the hook. Clear as mud, right? OR maybe I'll just cut the hook completely off the mounting block and add a spacer. Might be easier if there is enough metal to work with.

I cut mine off and put in a piece of 3/4 flat bar and welded it up. Problem solved. The CAT 1-CAT 2 adapter bushings are not the same OD as the ID of the hooks. I get the right ones from a Land Pride dealer and now have the bushings installed on all my implements.

Ron, is there any chance you could post up a few pictures of what you did here ? What my proble was with my HF qk hitch was it was just to short and with out testeting it on any other implement other than the Brush Hog mower, I still have a 5' Tiller, Box Blade, Post hole digger that I haven't tried yet with the qk Hitch I have.

It would be nice to see what others have concocted to make their setups work with minimal $ @ hand.

And everytime I see Harbor Freight I try to remind people to look for that 25% off coupon and if you have a "smartphone" scan it in. I always have been able to use the scanned coupon for a 25% off. I just got one today in the local shoppers ad and it doesn't expire until July.

Manshoon,

It's been raining like H out there so so hard to get good pictures. Besides it is laying in pieces not on the tractor as I am using the BH. When the rain stops I will be installing it again for the rototiller. To lengthen the top hook you need cutting and welding equip or take it out to a shop. The lower 3PT pins were easy just used a drill on them. For the lower hooks you need to measure your HF unit inside to inside and outside to outside. Then check the lower pin system on your implements. Some have lift arm pins and some like my Box B have a straight pin through a hole on both sides. That was the only one I had the outside width problem with and had to grind 3/16 off the outside of each hook. Older implements, as reported in threads here, have to be modified quite often but newer ones that are QH ready should fit, mine all do except an older disc I had to modify. Welders and the skill save a lot of horsing around and/or $. I keep spares of all types of pins and bushings as they are easy to lose in the dirt. Go to the Land Pride web site and peruse the manuals on their implements. You will find all the bushings I was discussing and get some ideas on QH from theirs. All their manuals are free downloads.Manuals Search | Land Pride

The top hook is not long enough to work on all implements.
