Quick Hitches HARBOR FREIGHT QUICK HITCH

I want to try a HF quick hitch, cheap enough, but with the limited lift capacity of my JD 3005, every inch further back the impliment moves reduces lift abilities.

I bought a county line from TSC that worked fine with my newer implements but would not on some of the older ones. A few minutes of thinking and adjusting and all fit now and I could not be happier. It has not come off the tractor in over 4 years now. I also made a hitch receiver to fit it with a draw bar set up that works great. I had looked at the Pat's units and did not see the point in it. All I do is back up to the implement needed and it's hooked up and off I go. With the Pat's you still need to get off and hook up so why bother?

I bought one about a year ago. It is advertised as Cat 1.

It meets the Cat 1 center to center distance between lift pins and top link pin = 18 in.
It meets the Cat 1 lift link spread = 26". The HF is a little over 27" allowing some clearance.
It meets the Cat 1 top link pin diameter = 3/4".
It did not meet the Cat 1 lift link pin diameter supposed to be 7/8". The holes were 3/4" so I drilled out to 7/8" which is what the B21 lift pins are. That took about 3 minutes.

It works with my Cat 1 implements - Land Pride rotary cutter, Land Pride tiller, and Bush Hog box blade.

All the cheap ones are about the same... Harbor Freight, TSC, Northern Tool. I've had several & all required a bit of work. Had to grind a few lift hooks out a bit. On all of em I weleded a 1-2" extension to the back of the top hook so the QH frame wouldnt hit on some of the implement frames.

One of the QHs got welded to a SSQA plate so I could mount or carry 3pt implements on my loader. The lift hooks on that QH is also the mount & pivot for my converted truck snow plow. Chain goes up to a separate pin in one of the toplink adjustment holes.

I love my Quick Hitches. Although I doubt I'd be half as excited if I didn't have TnT. You do have to modify some of your implements to fit at times, especially older stuff. But if you have the skills, its worth it.

Is there no such thing as a draw bar that slides in to the hitch and pin spot or do you have to use the 3 point system.. I have a kabota b26 and i jut want to tow a trailer around the ranch.

I have an inexpensive one I bought from AgriSupply. Mine came with 3/4 bottom pins but it isn't a problem. Also the bottom pin hooks are huge so I use Cat1 to Cat2 to Cat3 bushings on all my bottom pins for a tighter fit. I also bushed up most of the top pins to Cat2.

Ended up modding most of my stuff to work on it and didn't actually set the top link height to Cat1 specs. Doesn't matter as all my stuff is fitted to the hitch now and for the most part I like using it. My landscape rake I have to lengthen the top link to hook up then shorten it back up to use the implement. Most implements require a different top link setting so it's no big deal. Most I used the bolt for the supports instead of the top pin location.

I didn't even attempt to make my brush cutter work with it because I would need a longer driveshaft plus that top link needs to float.

There are lots of posts on modifying the HF QH including probably 3-4 of mine. Mine works great since modifying the QH a little. All my implements are newer QH compatible so that was not a problem. Easy to make the float function from some 1 1/2 X 1/4 flat bar. If you do not have mechanical skills and a welder you will probably unhappy with the HF one. I saved a bundle.

I love my quick hitches. It makes hooking up easier and unhooking a breeze. Like the guys have said you need to have QH compatible implements or modify the implements to work. Also with all QH's you need to put bushings on the lift arm pins and top link pin of the implement to Cat3.

Here is a video I made comparing the HF QH to an imatch.

Tractordata says your 1500 has a cat 1 - 3 pt.
If it is the HF quick hitch would work.
Check the attached chart. If you have 20" width you may be Cat 0. 26-27" Cat 1

Width is the problem. I can squeeze out 23". Everything else is sized Cat 1. The HF QH takes the lowers in at 28"
I'm looking at different lowers. Then I probably would have to reverse the rear tires to gain the width opening.
Mabey i'll just keep looking.

Thanks to all who answered.
