Will this work? It's slightly smaller but not by enough that you would notice. Noram Heavy-Duty Pulley Clutch Noram 4 28
No, Lithium doesn't have that issue. However, they don't like sitting unused for extended periods, especially if they are completely full or almost empty of charge. If you are going to be storing them for a while, try to leave lithium batteries roughly half charged.
I have a bunch of the 18v Li-ion Hitachi drills and 1/4" drive impacts and love them. They don't offer quite as many tools as some other brands but I find the batteries affordable and last really well.Knock on wood; I bought an Hitachi 14.4V Li impact driver in 2008 with two batteries. It has been used hard and put up wet so to speak and the batteries are still going fairly strong. I kind of feel like the batteries may not go quite as long as they did when new but power wise they are fine. I wish all of my Ni-Cads from the past went half that distance.
Having had Milwaukee, Dewalt, Porter Cable, etc. in the past, I am ready but undecided as to which way to go for much needed replacements. I bought a Bauer drill to try out maybe a month ago. Eh, it's kind of crude so I think it will be an orphan.
I read somewhere that HF hired a welder designer away from Lincoln and soon sold a clone that was so close that this generated a lawsuit, too.Not sure but didn't HF get sued by Snap-On (I think) over those jacks? Didn't they (Snap-On or whomever) sue because it was an almost exact copy for hundreds less? May get one myself when my present one peters out.
