Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Some guy here in SC sells some of their returned stuff. There is one of their distribution centers in SC, probably gets it there. Huge place off I-95 near Dillon. I've seen these large cardboard bins in the back of some HF stores they just toss all the returned stuff in, presumably to ship back to the DC.

I've heard the employees in the local HF complaining about people buying junk/broke HF stuff at the flea market then trying to exchange it for a good one at the store. Probably one of the reasons they have recently gotten way more picky about returns/exchanges.

Comment about reviews on NT and HF- I've known for some time both seem to not post ALL the negative reviews, someone here TBN posted that a negative review he wrote for NT was never published. I've had the same thing happen with HF reviews, my negative one (junk air hoses) never was published either but oddly positive ones show up.
Bottom line take them with a grain of salt, they seem to "lose" most of the negative reviews and publish most of the positive ones. Deceitful in my view.

Interesting. Maybe we should do a test here. Post a negative review (genuine) and tally up how many are not posted.

I wrote a negative review on the pruning bow saw. The rivet holding the far end of its blade is hollow and it crushed immediately, freeing the blade. I submitted the review, and it disappeared.

Although I have never submitted any type review at harbor freight , I do see items that i have looked at that have reviews that are low rated like the auto drain for air compressors ? It only has 1 review and it is only 1 star ?

Again , don't know the scoop , just saying , and I also take reviews with a grain of salt . as One never really knows if it is the product fault or the person using it . until you try yourself .

Today, I put in a negative review on the pneumatic mini needle scaler cause when it sits, ya need to whack the heck out of it with a plastic hammer to get it to run, especially in cold weather. They are supposed to be posted in 5 days, so we'll see..

I've seen some of it at their Sidewalk Sales.

If you search their brand names on Ebay, you can find the big liquidator who they wholesale the un-salable stuff to. I think he's in Nashville or at least that part of the country, so I haven't watched his auctions - due to shipping cost.

This guy used to sell pallets of As-is Harbor Freight stuff...
empire liquidators | eBay

I didn't see any HF stuff today when I looked at their items.

I almost bought one of those. I found an inside track club coupon for the full size one for $5 more so that's what I ended up with. I haven't had a need to use it so I can't tell you if I'll need to give it a shot or two to get it to work.

That name looked familiar so I looked in my ebay Saved Sellers. I have Empire listed with the note 'HF Returns'. He's in upstate NY.

I also found the one I was thinking of near Nashville: Tadd Wholesale in Lebanon Tennessee. He must be huge. There are over 2,000 items in just the Tools section of his Completed Auctions.

Tadd Wholesale - Completed - Tools. There are a few HF items in there. The prices are surprisingly high, for example a HF orange angle grinder missing the guard and wheel sold for around $14 with shipping.

I also searched on Welders in his active auctions and saw several HF welders, all missing various pieces. Didn't see any bargains. :(

Worse, there is some guy on EBay selling HF coupons for $4 a piece - you know the ones available free everywhere.
