Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Not a bad looking unit that HF 4x8 trailer, especially for the coupon price.

Says in the description it is a tilt trailer.

It also folds looks like the hinge point is just above the axle in the photo.

Doesn't mention anything that I see to what thickness or size of the steel frame members are though

The very best price I had seen at TSC this summer was for a 4x6 landscape trailer with PT board deck on sale for $499

I bought their smaller 40" X 49" trailer specifically to mount my 4000 psi pressure washer on for portability around the ranch. Pull it with our Polaris Ranger.

Heavy Duty Utility Trailer - 870 Lb. Capacity

I did not install lights etc. since it is primarily used on the ranch. If it leaves the ranch, I just load the whole thing on our 6' X 12' utility trailer.

That would make a nice little generator trailer, especially with a coupon. Compared to the wheel kits for some of the generators, this would be a great deal. Someone could even build a 'box' to semi enclose a generator for sound and weather proofing.

I am actually waiting for a "super coupon" sale on another one of these for our 8 kW portable generator. In the past I have lifted the generator into bed of the Polaris with tractor FEL but, this limits space for other needed tools for jobs around the ranch.

Bought/assembled my 62647 "Super Duty" almost 10 years ago now, long enough for the Chinese red paint to turn partially pink and the rest rust. Old enough that the tubeless spare tire valve stem recently rotted off. I think it was rated 1900# at the time. It is NOT folding.

It has hauled a LOT of stuff between Atlanta and central TN, including motorcycles, near-capacity weight loads of ceramic tile, and mountains of household junk. Never complained, and tows like it's not even there. I once hauled an extreme overload, well over a ton, of stemming gravel a short distance for a blasting job. I don't know what gauge the frame metal is, but it has been sufficient!

The instructions for the original bearings said to pack them with grease, but they were wrapped in waxed paper and fully packed with what appeared to be regular grease - I installed them as-is and it has run perfectly since. Figured if they started to run warm, I could re-pack them then. I often check the hubs for any excess heat, especially with heavy loads. I just assumed that the bearing supplier had changed and started furnishing them pre-greased since the instructions were written.

Great trailer! My assembly review is a few thousand posts before this one on this thread.

A generator trailer would is a great idea. Not so sure about enclosing a generator because it would restrict the air flow needed for cooling?. Anyone know anything about this?

I built a small building for one generator and an enclosure on a wagon for a small generator using attic vents. The building has vents on three sides; the enclosure uses vents for all four sides. Protects the generators from the weather and seems to work fine for cooling.
