Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Good Afternoon & Happy Easter Guys,
I opened up my sunday paper today, and I see that Harbor Freight has opened up a store on the Boston Post road in Orange, Ct. For anyone in the southern Ct area you might want to take a look...

They did have a small light duty 12 v winch for $39.95, that I wanted to look at, was thinking I could mount it on the front of my trailer and pull my heavy wood working equipment up the bilco stairway onto the trailer and transport to my barn in Vt...

Just thought I would mention it for anyone in the vicinity...

Have a great Easter ! :)

They also opened one up in southern NH but still none in VT yet.

Ok, went out and got the 2 ton shop crane mentioned a few posts earlier. Cost was $156 out the door after the sale price and the 25% off coupon and the free flashlight.
Got it home and spent 30 minutes putiing it together and I do have to say that, at $156, it is one of the better HF deals and maybe the best deal.
Sure is a lot of metal there for the money. Plus, the product actually works.

Part of the challenge using the shop crane is the limitation posed by having only a hook as the attachment point. Maybe we could get an expert TBN rigger or bosun to teach us tricks to attach awkward load shapes.

I am not a rigger, but I solved the chalange of skidding large cu yd sized rocks from under my cottage with a 5 ton come-a-long once.
I wrapped the rocks with an old tire chain using it as a makeshift chain net. That ended the slippage issue just fine. We skidded out couple of dozen that way, Also used old sheets of plywood as skid base, sorta like a sled.

Is that the one ton or two ton model?
HF sells the one ton @$99 every now and then.

I bough this nail magnet and it has been a great performer. I would recomend that if you are going to roof a building or some such and pick up the nails afterward cut the grass very low before you start. The magnet hs trouble pulling nails through the grass.
HF nail magnet

The one I purchased is 24" though and for working on rough ground I think it is better.
