Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

I recently bought 2 tool chests and a rolling 2 shelf cart. I wasn't missing any nuts or bolts and everything lined up perfectly.

What I did was to put the bolts and nuts on but only finger tight. There were a couple bolts that needed to be tightened before the top part of the chest was put in place so I did tighten those but left all the others loose till everything was lined up and in place.

That's the way my Da taught me to put together virtually everything, and it has almost always [when I follow that route] keot me from double work and fitment problems...

The store in Fairview Heights IL was out of the 16-drawer cabinets. Guy there said they had two of them about two months ago, but haven't seen any since they sold the display unit. They have another shipment coming in two weeks, so maybe then. I'm going to call around to a couple other area stores to see if they have any in stock. Apparently, there's quite a demand for these. He also told me it wasn't being discontinued, only upgraded to the Series 2.

I asked if I could order one from the website and have it delivered to the store, but he told me HF won't do that. If I order online, it has to be delivered to my home with the accompanying freight cost. Going to look into that. If the freight isn't awful, it may be worth it, as opposed to hoping they get some soon and I can get there before they are all sold.

The flyer I got said 'Very Limited Quantities', so I'm guessing they are clearing them out.

Isn't shipping a fairly cheap flat rate? A couple years ago I ordered one of their Predator engines and shipping was only $7 or so. Of course, at that price one can't expect speedy and it definitely wasn't.

I think the little motors can still come via normal carrier, the tools boxes come truck freight.

I moved the tractor tool box to the alternate garages today. Good times. IMG_20180427_112248562.jpegIMG_20180427_112304682_HDR.jpeg

Nothing but stacked Crete. Been there since 1990.
Hey RC,

I like your retaining wall- is it just the dry stacked barriers?

...or do you have anything behind them reinforcing it?

Thanks,
PA

Thank you!

I've been trying to tell my O.L. that it would be all we need as well [our embanked parking area is only about 2-3' over the adjacent grade], but of course, I'm not an engineer and whatever...

This is grist for my mill!

Thanks again!
