Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Thanks. Always curious how the "combo" blades do. I put a Freud Diablo combo blade on my Skilsaw, not crazy expensive for this one.
Amazon was 48 dollars, little cheaper than Home Depot or Ace. Yes, would likely last me my lifetime considering my low volume.

Drew, I just picked these up at HD, cannot beat the price! If you read the fine print on the package, they are made by Diablo, which is owned by Freud. Here is a link...

Cool. I've only used the screw clamp type that only do a single corner at a time, so you need four.

remarkably good deal Ted, 15 bucks a piece vs 48 for the one I ordered. Not sure I want to stock up though as carbide tipped blades will last me a long long time.
I'm sure there is some difference but unlikely very much.
Tempting...

Drew (and all) - I would be EXTREMELY cautious on ANYTHING (including blades) from Freud that's sold under the Avanti line - even the OEM blade on my DeWalt 12" sliding compound has outlasted Avanti blades by YEARS - Same with their other "cut/maim/mutilate" products.

After my experiences with Avanti I equate that line with the old Sears product lines that were advertised with the phrase, "Even at this low price"

That being said, I have their Diablo blades in sizes from 6-1/2" up to the 14" steel cutting blades, and these days that's my FIRST choice.

'Nuff said, don't say I didn't WARN ya... Steve

PS - didja notice the little blurb on the link, "For 2x longerlife vs standard blades" ??!? - From my experience, I'm thinking "standard" means the old NON-carbide tipped blades - you know, the ones that lasted maybe a TENTH as long as a good carbide one...

I must be lucky .... on numerous occasions.... I have sets / pairs of 10" and 12", both the Diablo and the Avanti. Yes, the Diablo last me at least twice as long as the Avanti. But getting 2 of the Avanti for almost half of one Diablo, it makes it worthwhile to get them. They are used during the time that my Diablo blades are being sharpened (takes about 1 1/2 weeks turnaround time). I have some very expensive true Freud blades that were over $100 each... I rarely use them anymore. (They cost a fortune to sharpen... they are the "triple chip" blades)

I made the mistake ONCE.... of buying a 12" HF 80t saw blade.... it barely lasted one project....
