Hard hat/crash helmet for tractoring? Anyone?

a while back on this thread it was talked about cutting next to a stream and wearing a life jacket. that made me think to check my bank next to the Mississippi River, where I have a river cabin and 2 acres of ground we cut. I have always kept the tractor 2 to 4 foot away. Just incase the bank was washed out from under it below the water line.
I think I will pass on the jacket, I have a 4 to 6 ft drop then a mud bank that I would sink about 4 foot into, I better carry a tank of air so I could breath until they could dig me out.

I wear a white hard hat and my chain saw chaps when I'm in the woods working. I've had many less bonks on the noggin since I started the practice.
The white hat doesn't absorb much of the sun's rays, keeping it cooler.
A day after making fun of me for having my hard hat on, my brother got conked on the head with a falling limb while working in his wood. I got the last laugh.

I may need to get a hard hat. I have bumped my head twice lately on the folded ROPS when adjusting the sway chains. JC

Seriously, many chainsaw helmet manufacturers make a neck cape or chip shield that snaps in to the rear of the helmet and hangs down 10-12" to cover your collar, etc. from chips. Great in the woods, especially in cold weather, kinda sweaty when hot.
