Hard time with new tractor

I am sure you guys are tired of hearing me yap about the nice features of the Kioti, but mine has that nice little lever on the back to raise or lower the 3pt while you are hooking up. Bobcats do too. (basically same tractor).

That nice little lever that you are talking about is not on the CK30 that I am aware of , just like the twin pedal HST is not on the CK30.

You guys keep comparing apple and oranges. :confused3:

But arrow hasn't completely made up his mind yet, and Mahindra and Kioti aren't the only tractors being manufactured.

My woods are WORSE than yours! I'm in VT, and most of my woods are closer together than yours so I have to cut my way in and sometimes out too. I cut so many trees clearing out an area for my new barn and addition for my house, and woods behind the house I had the excavator working two HUGE machines for over two weeks removing stumps and digging ditches I just couldn't get to because of the crappy weather over the last several seasons. I have blowdowns all over the place and trees snapped off like toothpicks half way up or more from constant relentless winds, and neverending rain, sleet, hail, etc.
The tractor does a lot of the selective work that the excavator cannot come close to doing, but all in all if I had years to clean it all up I probably could have done it with my then helper/gofer. But I need things done in fairly rapid fashion or nothing ever gets completed. I've got stranglehold vines that get real thick and choke out some trees, streams running everywhere, and all kinds of junk wood. Aspen, Birch, Ash, etc. Not enough Maples or Pines, and way to many under canopy sucker trees crowding out each other.

Go get yourself a brand spanking new tractor and don't look back. You'll be glad you did and can turn off the worry button in your brain.
You want to take a trip up here to try mine out let me know. No one that I'm aware of that I've steered toward a hydro Kioti has expressed any regret. Ball is in your court - who you 'gonna call ? Tractormythbusters, that's us here on TBN!:dance1:

Arrow...Buy the mahindra.....and the skidding winch. Have someone fabricate a skid plate for the tractor and enjoy 5 years of miniature production logging. Then...if you really are done logging in 5 years (and you won't be if you buy the winch) sell the winch. I think you'll love the tractor and I think a small skidding winch would still be a good investment. I'd be lost without mine.

I wanted so badly to mention that, but I appear to have ruffled to arrow's feathers(pun unintended) enough. As I said though.......with a rod, or piece of flat steel, a few bolts and some hangers.........the 3pt can be operated from the next county if necessary.

Ah the lack of intonation on the internet. No ruffles of mine are ruffled Don. I appreciate all of your contributions. Unless you know someone, certain deliveries can be misconstrued and I seem to be good at that.

I say 5 years Baer because I've been logging the area for the past 30. With this size tractor, I refuse to log any distance beyond a quarter mile turn. After that, I'll have stems delivered.

yes I have seen several designs by ingenious fellas to accomplish that goal in the last few years.

I'd like to see some of those myself. I am a visual learner. Descriptions just add to my omelets

Don, the guy has a deposit down on a Mahindra 3016. Now it may be my misunderstanding, :confused3: but that leads me to believe that he sort of wants a 30ish HP machine. Most people don't put non refundable purchase deposits on stuff that they don't want. As far as the Kioti tractors, they are great, but the features that have been mentioned noting how wonderful the Kioti tractors are DO NOT EXIST on a Kioti CK30 and that would be what is comparable to the Mahindra 3016.

Now if the OP wants to step up in size and forego his deposit, then a Kioti DK40HST would be one heck of a tractor to have. But for some reason, I don't get the impression that that is even being considered. ;)

My problem is I do not know if my "brain" is finding it awkward based on what it already knows. My present tractor has shift levers between your legs which are very fast to manipulate but necessitates a parallel bar dismount from the tractor. I'm still able to do this now but the future holds what? To shuttle my tractor it takes an instant. The shuttle shift on the new tractor is on the column. I simply could not finesse the new tractor as I can work the 750. The 750 operates like it is a "part of me". I'll have to drive the 3016 at the dealership for a few more days to see what happens and if he needs to keep my deposit as a result of a missed sale because of the deposit hold and I decide not to buy it, I have no problem with that.

I guess I take that different than you. :confused3: I see that as he is willing to give up his non refundable deposit and get NO TRACTOR at all. Not that he is willing to give up the deposit and go shopping elsewhere. My mistake if that was what he intended by that statement. ;)
