Hardwood floor refinishing

Do the entire bottom floor or very minimum the whole kitchen. There’s no way to match a spot repair.

Actually, I should ask. If the scruffs are not bad, is there a process where you don't sand and stain, but just put on a new top coat? I did have a guy that did hardwoods that said you don't always have to sand and restain if they are not bad.

I’ve never seen a floor that was bad enough to need anything done and good enough to not sand.

That can depend somewhat on floor materials. friends & family have maple, oak, & bamboo. All have different finishes/stains.
